Did what you suggested, but didn't stop buzzing. when removed the Stud #1 fuse it stopped the buzzing. What next?

  • Brett Rosenthal Nov 18, 2009

In the manual it identifies the fuse that stopped the buzzing as Stud #1 which is identified as accessory power.

  • Brett Rosenthal Nov 18, 2009

Also the brake light and ABS warning lights are now on since removing the Stud #1 fuse

  • Brett Rosenthal Nov 19, 2009

Yes, it was an ABS system failure, which now needs to be replaced with new Electronic Brake control module

The light and the buzzing I assume started at the same time, so correcting the abs condition will likely fix the buzzing. Your abs issue is more than likely a sensor and can be identified by running fault code diagnostics. If you do not have access to a code reader, I suggest you enlist the help of a counterman at a national parts chain such as Auto Zone or Advance. They will read and interpret your codes as a free service in hopes of selling you the faulty sensor. Good Luck! I hope you find this very helpful!

Have you had the codes read?

  • Hal Hallman Nov 19, 2009

So having the codes read solved your problem? I think that is what you are saying, congratulations, I am glad we were able to figure it out! Good Luck.

This is a real common problem with the kelsey hayses ABS control module. You can shut the motor off by unplugging the ABS relay in the box under the hood. The cover tells you what relay. Its one of the big square ones. Then you can go to modulemaster.com and put your vehicle info in and they will direct you thru the removal process and shipping details. I have used then several times for your exact complaint and every time this fixed it. Its easy to remove the module. Just a few screws and the connector. Then wrap up the valve part and connector for protection. Then you can drive the truck while the part is being rebuilt. You wont have ABS capabilities so be cautious. It takes about 10 days turnaround. This should cost roughly $200 or less all said and done. Then its plug and play when you install it. No programming required. If you bought a new unit this would run you better than $600 at least. Just remember to put the relay back in when your install the part.

what was the fuse, what did the cover say

  • Ernset ( Skip ) Bouvette

also is the brake light on also when the ABS light is on

  • Ernset ( Skip ) Bouvette

was the buzzing coming from the motor that is located on the frame under the driver seat. Did the ABS light come on when the buzzing started. If so I still think you have a ABS issue with the module that is located under the hood near the steering coloum. Put the fuse in and feel for where the buzz is if your not sure yet. If the ABS light is on you should have codes stored to diagnose it but if we determine the ABS motor is the one running then the module will need to be rebuilt.

Let's see if there is really a diagnostic expert out there for this... 1996 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L engine with 165,000 miles. I'm having intermittent starting problems. I can drive for weeks and no...

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. From there, if it persists, we can do more trouble shooting. Let me know and I can walk you through the process. This is definately a problem that does require a diagnostician. Thank you for the level of detail you provided!

Abs relay

Good Day,

The easiest solution is to locate the abs fuse in the fuse box. Remove that fuse and ABS is now disabled(this will trip you abs light), brakes will function normal but keep in mind you will lock the wheels up under heavy braking. Possible cause are bad abs sensors, or bad abs module. If you don't mind no abs then problem solved, otherwise take it to a shop and have a code pulled from the abs module to diagnose further.

Hope this helps and Good Luck
