I am asking for position of the camlobs when timing without using marks

Cams are set with the #1 piston NOT AT TDC. You need the cam tool to set this. DO NOT EVEN TRY TO DO THIS WITHOUT IT. ther e are NO reference points which allow you to do this any other way. I am a 35 year master tech and trust me on this. It is not like other engines.

I have a audi a6 2.7 quarrtro didn't start yesterday i replaced the feul filter it was completly clogged and i started right up and ran fine now today dosn't want to start again any ideas

chances are when you changed the filter t allowed all the sh.t in the line/tank to flow upto the new filter, you may have to renew this filter after allowing the fuel to clear any residual left in the system by running the pump without connecting the new filter up..

I have a 1986 454 C30 silverado dual fuel tanks . my fuel pump is split so got a new but the new 1 only has one 3/8 in port , and the old has two a 3/8 and 1/4 , is the 1/4 one a return line

Short answer, yes. It is to reduce the chances of a vapor lock forming by returning vapor and hot fuel back to the tank and keeping cool fuel circulating through the pump.

How do you change valve cover gasket on pontiac grand am se 2.4l?

mcdevito75 here, You"d need to move everything attached to the valve cover out of the way without disconnecting any hoses or wires, then you need the tools, a 1/4 inch drive ratchet set with long sockets and extensions. Chances are your valve cover is just a little loose from engine vibration. Let your local repair shop check it for you.

1997 Honda Civic did not pass smog due to O2 sensor heater fault failure, sensor 1, bank 1. If I replace the sensor, how do I get the check engine light reset?

the best way to reset it is with a scan tool.
disconnecting the battery for one minute will also remove the code.BUT
if your smog test uses an OBD scan as part of the process, then there will be a problem, because the monitors will not have been set,as they are reset if the battery is disconnected..
most tests allow only one monitor missing, and not the catalyst .
A drive cycle will have to be done to set the monitors.
Typically cold start coolant temp less than 50F,idle for 2 minutes no air condition, accelerate at half throttle to 50mph then drive 3 minutes with a/c on at 50mph steady.decelerate to 10mph without using brakes..Accelerate to 60mph and drive for 5 minutes at steady speed without a/c
deccelerate without braking and drive for 1 minute at 40mph.
stop the car ,use braking.
Shut off the car and add 4 gallons of not shut off the car for more than 5 minutes.
drive in 3rd gear or overdrive off with rpm 3000 for 1 minute.
decelerate to 10mph.without braking
accelerate to 40 mph in 4th gear.,or overdrive on
decelerate without braking to 10mph.
test complete.
this will set the o2 sensor heater ,o2 sensor, catalyst, evap purge.and the other monitors.

1998 Mazda Protege air conditoner blows warm air

Chances are that if nothing over the winter poked a hole in the condensor, 1 or more of the O-rings that are at each joint / connection, has dried out therefore allowing the refrigerant to leak past the seal. Have a qualified tech check it to be sure. The cost may be a minimal 1.

I was told that the car jumped time and i need to no how to set it?

if you have Dual Over Head Cams you have to set both to 12 o clock make sure your num#1 piston is on top dead center in order for your tiiming to be right, another thing is that if your old belt sliped there could be a chance that valve damage might of occured or may be not since most honda engine are interference engines
