When you open the hood on your H2 the is a cover over the top of the motor. to remove it you have to remove the oil filler cap and pull out the dip stick. when those are removed you should be able to remove the cover by pulling up on the front edge. after that is out of the way the ignition coils are right on top of the spark plugs and are usually held in with 2 bolts per each coil pack. unbolt the coil pack and pull on the coil and it should pull out of the hole( may be stubborn) them find out what size the plugs are and the plugs are in the bottom of the hole

I did it when I bought mine used, and it was fairly simple as there is ample room in most of the engine compartment. I did one by one and it took a little over an hour. The only difficult one was the last one closest to the passenger. Try Bosch +4 plugs, as my power increased and mpg went up. Use only GM plug wires though. Good luck

What can i do ? my peugeot ew 10 engine ignition coil no spark. i changed spark plugs but still no change .Please help

If you have no spark, changing plugs will not help. Did you check the ignition coil to make sure that it is not open? Is the coil receiving power when ignition is turned on?

Best bet is to get a hold of the electrical schematic for car and check out the ignition circuit for culprit.

Engine is turning over, but not starting

first, test for spark at the ignition coil. take the power cable that connects from the ignition coil and disconnect the end at the distributor. hold the bare connecting end a fraction of an inch away from a metal paqrt of the cars frame and attempt to start. if the ignition coil is good, it should throw a spark. if the ignition coil sparks, next check your spark plugs for oil, grime, black or white discoloration on the spark tips (that point inside the engine). if there is a lot of build up or discoloration, replace the spark plugs. if this does not solve it, change your distributor cap, and if this doesnt slove it, change your spark plug wires.

What does the ignition coil do?

the ignition coil changes low voltage from the battery (12 volts) to high voltage (about 50,000 volts) to fire the spark plugs and ignite the fuel in the engine cylinders and drive the piston down

There is a misfire in my engine, changed plugs & wires. now it reads that the fuel leveling sensor is bad, will this help?

If there is a misfire, the cylinder that it is misfiring in will be recorded as a code in the computer.

Have the car scanned to determine which cylinder is bad. Then, replace the coil pack going to that cylinder.

Ignition Coil Pack Removal & Installation 2V Engine To Remove:
  1. Twist the spark plug wires off of the ignition coil towers. Mark the spark plug wire positions so they can be installed in their original positions.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil. CAUTION
When removing the spark plug wires, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

How to replace sparl plugs on a Jeep Cherokee?

Hello, I hope this info helps...(subytech1)...REMOVAL
In this engine, each individual spark plug is located under each ignition coil.

  1. Prior to removing spark plug, spray compressed air around base ofignition coil at cylinder head. This will help prevent foreign materialfrom entering combustion chamber.
  2. On this engine each individual ignition coil must be removedto gain access to each spark plug. Refer to Ignition CoilRemoval/Installation.
  3. Check condition of coil O-ring and replace as necessary.
  1. Inspect spark plug condition. Refer to Spark Plug Conditions.
CLEANING
Theplugs may be cleaned using commercially available spark plug cleaningequipment. After cleaning, file center electrode flat with a smallpoint file or jewelers file before adjusting gap.

CAUTION: Never use a motorized wire wheel brush to clean sparkplugs. Metallic deposits will remain on spark plug insulator and willcause plug misfire.

ADJUSTMENT

Setting Spark Plug Gap - Typical
Check spark plug gap with a gap gauge tool. If the gap is not correct, adjust it by bending ground electrode. Never attempt to adjust gap bybending center electrode.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: This engine is equipped with copper core groundelectrode spark plugs. They must be replaced with the same type/numberspark plug as the original. If another spark plug is substituted,pre-ignition will result.

Special care should be taken when installing spark plugs into cylinderhead spark plug wells. Be sure plugs do not drop into plug wells asground straps may be bent resulting in a change in plug gap, orelectrodes can be damaged.

Always tighten spark plugs to specified torque. Over tightening cancause distortion resulting in a change in spark plug gap or a crackedporcelain insulator.

  1. Start spark plug into cylinder head by hand to avoid cross threading.
  2. Tighten spark plugs to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
  3. Before installing coil(s), check condition of coil O-ring andreplace as necessary. To aid in coil installation, apply silicone tocoil O-ring.
  4. Install ignition coil(s). Refer to Ignition Coil Removal/Installation.

Changing spark plugs

Changing the spark plugs on a 1997 Ford Expedition 5.4L engine takes patience. Remember to start this project on a cold engine! I started on the passenger side by locating the Coil over iginition coils and cleaned out all the old dirt using some compressed air. Then I had to disconnect the electrical connections to both the Coil over ignition coils and the passenger side fuel injectors. Once you remove the small bolt which holds the ignition coil in place, use your compressed air again to blow out the spark plug hole. After that, you will need a 5/8" swivel spark plug socket and various length extensions to remove the spark plugs. Take your time because there is not much room for your hands. Before installing the new plug, check the gap and use clean engine oil on the new threads. Tighten the new spark plug and reinstall the coil over ignition coil. Reconnect the electrical connection to both the ignition coil and the fuel injector. Continue these steps with all eight spark plugs. You will find the ones on the drivers side are difficult because of the fuel rail gets in your way. Have patience and use swivel extensions to work around the tight spaces. When you are done, you will have saved lots of money! Don't forget to replace your air filter, fuel filter, and pcv valve to complete your tune up.
