There are no instructions and pictures wont tell you anything. Experience is what gets the job done. You can see what needs to come out. Now its up to you how you want to tackle it.

My transmission is stuck in first

It's internal. If you don't have someone working for you that can dig into it. Take it to a transmission shop. Your picture gave you away.

Check to see if the shift cable is adjusted correctly. Is it in D or 3 when it shifts into neutral? The two best transmission shops in Southern Oregon are Dusty's Transmission in Central Point and Pete's Certified Transmission in Phoenix.

2000 Firebird - Gear shift button broken- can't shift - A/T

You could remove the handle and pull on the plastic rod, or disassemble the console to access the shift lock.
You may need a shop manual for repair info.

1998 dodge caravan 3.3l 4 speed trans wont shift

first let it warm up for about 15 minutes, then place your parking brake on, place it in neutral and check your transmission fluid if your transmission fluid is full, then it could be your shift solenoid, or your governor since this is a front wheel drive and these transmissions are complex to work on, you need to support your engine just to pull the transmission, it just might be better to have a transmission shop fix it

Where is the shift solenoid on a 2003 vibe

There are more than one shift solenoids and depending on which transmission you have makes a difference as to how many there are as well. You either have the MU4 or MU5 transmission. In any case the shift solenoids are located on the valve body and the valve body will need to be removed in order to remove them. If you happen to be talking about the shift interlock solenoid which some call just the shift solenoid but actually it's a module. In any case below is a picture and I have marked the location of the shift interlock solenoid just in case that's what you were talking about. If you need help on the other solenoids like instructions on how to get to and remove them, feel free to email me directly at csautomotivecars@att.net with all your information and I'll be more than happy to help with instructions and pictures. No there is no cost to you if you need that information. I don't mind helping but will need to know which transmission you have. Hope I was able to help.

Speedometer pinned all the way around?Dodge grand caravan 2002

If the transmission will still shift then the problem is in the instrument cluster. Will need to be repaired at the dealer or a speedometer repair shop.If the transmission will not shift then the problem is most likely in the TCM(transmission control module)and/or wiring.Need to have transmission and body computer codes pulled. You will need to go to a professional repair facility to do this because the code pullers they use at the parts stores will not access these codes.

Transmission shifts but hesitates from 2nd to 3rd gear, but not all the time. had it connected to a computer, indicates 2nd & 3rd gear sensor, where would this sensor be located at in the...

Just had the same thing happen to me. You have wires in your transmission that may have broke. Your external wire harness needs to be replaced. The shop just charged me $700 for the fix. Ignore the sensor for now, it is trying to tell you about the wires. I would take it to a shop for the fix. Your transmission will need to be pulled apart to access the wires. The wires that are broken control when your automatic transmission shifts. If they break, your transmission will not shift properly. Please feel free to ask any questions, I am happy to help.

My automatic ford focus is stuck in park and the boot kept popping open on it's own at the beginning of this week.

Are you referring to a transmission shift solenoid, or the shifter lockout solenoid? The shift solenoids, that control the shifting of the transmission, are located internally in the trans, specifically in the valve body. The shifter lockout solenoid, which is the solenoid that prevents you from shifting out of park, without depressing the brake pedal, is located in the shifter assembly itself, below the center console.
The transmission solenoids are located just inside the fluid pan. Here is some info for replacing them. It is acually pretty easy.
The first time this issue happened (at 60k miles) I paid a '''transmission shop $600 to fix it. It just happened again (at 100k miles) and I fixed it myself for about $50. It's a fairly common problem, so I'm posting the symptoms, codes and instructions here to help others.

I own a 2002 '''Ford '''Focus with automatic '''transmission. The symptoms are that the '''transmission disengages (slips out of gear) when it goes into 3rd gear. When the car slows down to 20 miles an hour or so (or when you stop) it re-engages. You can drive the car in 1st or 2nd gear generally. The '''transmission light comes on. There are no noises associated with this problem. If you have this problem then it's probably the "A" '''Solenoid that needs to be replaced. Here's how you make sure that's the case and fix it for $50.

1. You need to pull the diagnostic computer codes. '''Ford will pull them for you for $100. But, you can do it for free by going to AutoZone. They have a loaner computer diagnostic code puller. If you bring the car they'll just do it for you in the parking lot. If you want to borrow the tool then they will want a $200 security deposit. I recommend that you bring the car to them if you it's close. Also, there are lots of small shops that will pull the code for you for free. There's no reason to pay a "diagnostic fee" to pull the computer repair code. This code will tell you Exactly which '''solenoid to replace. It's typically the "A" '''solenoid, though.

2. Once you get the code you need to know which '''solenoid to replace. Here is a list of diagnostic '''solenoid codes:

P0750 SSA SSA '''solenoid circuit failure SSA circuit failed to provide voltage drop across '''solenoid. Circuit open or shorted or PCM driver failure during on-board diagnostic. No reverse gear (short) or no fourth gear (open). Refer to Pinpoint Test A.
P0751 SSA SSA functional failure Mechanical or hydraulic failure of the shift '''solenoid. Not all gears present. REFER to Diagnosis By Symptom (307-01 , DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING).

2000 Stratus will not shift out of second

Indications are that the transmission has some serious issues. You may want to call a reputable local transmission shop and explain the situation, including the codes. They can give you your options. But I suspect you need the transmission rebuilt or replaced.
