yes i actually changed the slave cylinder and bled it probly a total of around 15 to 20 times because that is what I thought was wrong but its still the same could there still be air or could it be something else

When replacing the clutch, did you disconnect the slave cylinder? If so, did you bleed the hydraulic clutch after reassembly? If there is air trapped in the clutch system, it will prevent adequate pressure transfer to the slave cylinder/throwout bearing, which could cause the problem you describe.

First you have to bleed air from clutch fluid.
if it is not ok, Remove clutch agan & check pressure plate finger blance or damage.

you may have a "throwout bearing" problem. the mechanic is WRONG. you will need to take the trans out and most likely replace the clutch components but the problem is not in the trans.

Clutch won't engage

There is a problem with the pressure plate spring or possibly the throwout bearing is bound up,you should be able to pull the rubber boot from around the clutch fork and have someone depress the pedal, you should be able to see if it's a problem with the bearing.Unfortunatly the trans is probably going to have to caome off.

1991 Toyota pickup 4WD clutch slipping

There is an adjustment for the clutch pedal under the dash where the push rod goes thru the firewall. There is only aprx. 1/2" of adjustment so be careful when making an adjustment, if your clutch is slipping then you need to shorten the throw of the push rod.

ase mechanic:

well depends how strong you are, and if you are using a car lift or doing on your back. either way drain the transfer case fluid, should be bolt on bottom, otherwise when you seperate the transfer case from trans there will big mess. take transfer case off first note how it is mounted with paint marker and then take trans out. much easier then leaving together.
