All engines use an automatic drive belt tensioner. No adjustment is necessary. It is recommended that the belt tension indicator mark be inspected with the engine OFF at 60,000 mile (96,000 km) intervals. If the indicator mark is not between the MIN and MAX marks, the drive belt is worn or an incorrect drive belt has been installed.

Take vehicle back to the garage as it sounds like the sensor is loose or not plugged in.After paying all this money for the work to be done they should have it put right for free straight away and they should give you a cortesia car with a free tank of fuel while they put yours right

How do you change a 07 toyota tundra serentine belt

Insert a ratchet or breaker-bar drive (end of bar) into the square hole in the tensioner / idler pulley mount. Move the tensioner mount in whatever direction is required to release tension on the belt. You will then be able to remove the belt. Install new belt similarly -- there should be a routing diagram under the hood for the belt -- if not, it would be a good idea to diagram it yourself before you remove the old one.

Serpentine belt route

ok I do not know what the cofigure is on your jeep but let me explain how it works and then you may be able to put it on. First look at the pulleys and see witch ones are smooth and witch ones have lines. smooth pulleys match to the smooth side of the belt ridgid side matches with ridgid side of belt. next I will tell you a rule to most serentine belts. Your crankshaft pully is the main drive so the belt will rap around almost 3/4ths the way around the pulley. All driven pulleys witch are the ones the run the water pump, altenator, compresor, and power steering rap around 3/5ths around the pulleys then you have the tentioner witch will apply pressure down on the belt so make shure the belt is under the pressure side. You can put a 3/8th ratchet in the tentioner to move it. if you still have pulleys that I have not covered they are their to complete the right amount of rap on the driven pulleys. The main thing to look at is if its smooth then put the smooth side of the belt on that pulley. If this did not help just coment back and I can get the book out tommorrow when I go to the shop and email you a copy of the diagram

How do you replace the serperenting belt on a 2002 grand marquis

Take it to an instant oil change place and have them change your oil.
While they are changing the oil hand the tech ( if thats what they are) the new belt and ask him to throw this on quick if he will please... it takes them about 13 seconds to change the serentine belt...

Otherwise there is a pully that is a belt tensioner that you use a long wrench to loosen the belt with... you take the old belt off and then put the new one on... it must be alligned correctly or you will not like the consequeses.

Dont know how belt goes

if you are going to replace your belt and you get it at Autozone, the belt routing will be on the package, but you need to check the automatic belt tensioner to see if it is still spring loaded,it bust not be since your belt came off,

Possibly your car jumped timing when the belt broke or bent some valves. Check that first
