It should not take more than 1 hour. If you are talking about a ford dealership , they have a book that tells them how many hours to charge for each job. If the book says 3 , thats what they charge you , even if it only took 40 min. I did a 2.5 hour job in 30 min once , in my driveway , laying in the dirt.
Avoid dealerships unless it is free warranty work.

Ford econoline wont start

Click on the link. I tried to get all on the same page, hope you can read it? It's for the starter motor circuit. You need to test when problem is ongoing.
Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. I don't know liter size of engine, whether it is diesel or gasoline? The diagram is for 5.8L gas engine.
Any testing at starter motor make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. Two voltage circuits at starter motor, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot when starter relay is energized. Check the fuses for voltage in the diagram. The starter motor usually grounds through engine block.
Unless you can do some testing, I don't know how to help?

How to remove fuel filter on a 2001 f250 v10 gas truck

I just purchased a 1999 F-250 Super Duty with the V-10 engine. It was running rough, so I took a chance on some after-market coils. I bought a set of 10 for just over $75.00 shipped (for all 10 total!!!). They came with new boots, too. They smoothed out the engine just fine and, of course, increased my fuel mileage, too. There ARE reasonably priced parts out there if you shop around.

How many labor hours should a shop charge to replace a Starter on a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE?

A reputable shop should not charge any more than an hour and a half labor, and that should include the diagnostic also.

Second starter burned out y

Do you have remote start? Also have you had the battery checked for too many cranking amps, which could burn a starter up. The Last thing, Is the parts store giving you the right starter for I suppose you have the v-10 engine.

2005 ford excursion cam sensor location I need to change the cam sensor and the crank sensors on my excursion and i do not know where they are located

On my 02 Excursion with the 7.3L Diesel, the Cam Position Sensor is located at the front bottom of the engine on the passengers side. There is one electrical pigtail plug that is attached and one bolt holds the sensor in position. It may be located in a similar location on your 05 Ex. I do not know where the crank sensor is located. I hope this helps.

Starter location 2003 Ford Excursion 7.3 L D

Look on the rear lower end of engine--Follow + battery cable.

If you can get leverage laying on your back to unbolt the old starter, slide under there. Your new starter should have step-by-step install directions. ALWAYS disconnect the battery when replacing a starter. Good Luck!
