2007 ford sport trac rear wheel bearing replacement

Jeff is describing how to replace the front wheel bearings. In the front, the bearing is part of a "hub cartridge". Randy is describing how to change the rear bearings on a truck with a "dead" rear axle. The sort of differential which is one massive cast iron assembly from rim to rim. However, your truck has an IRS [Independent Rear Suspension] design. You need to remove the wheels, brakes & the complete rear knuckle assembly. To remove the bearing from the knuckle requires a hydraulic press and a "knife edge" bearing removal tool. I doubt that you have these tools available. If not, find an auto parts store or auto machine shop with these tools. They can press the old bearing out and install the new one for you. Then you can reassemble the knuckle assembly from that point on. The video linked below should help you.

With the knuckle off, you can easily replace the ball joints at the same time. Odds are you will ruin the original ball joints getting the knuckle assembly off, anyway.

The disc is not held on with the axle hub nut, you need to remove the brake calipar & carrier , then the 6mm Allen screw from the disc, the disc may be seized on the hub or sticking on the handbrake shoes you may have to hot the disc centre with a hammer to loosen it

How do i chage a c/v axle on a hyundai tiburon

Specifically for 2003 Tiburon V6 6 speed, but may work for you as well.
-Loosen tire lugs
-Remove center caps with screw driver or similar tool (careful not to scratch caps)
-loosen axle nut

-Jack the car up and place on jack stands
-Chalk rear wheels
-finish removing tire lug nuts and tire
-remove cotter pin and finish removing axle nut
-remove brake pads
-remove caliper and brake assembly
-remove rotor (possible PITA), use extreme caution hammering a stuck rotor!

IMPORTANT STEP:
*remove 2 bolts from strut mount assembly. This will allow you enough clearance to "cleanly" pull axle out with minimal force/hammering. No axle puller tool necessary and no messing with the lower ball joint.

-Now gently tap the axle out of the hub assembly
-pull the rest of the axle out of the hub assembly by hand or pry with long screw driver or pickle fork. Again, since you removed the 2 strut assembly bolts, your hub assembly should have dropped down and away from the axle quit a bit to allow you enough clearance to remove axle from hub assembly

**Follow next steps for DRIVER SIDE ONLY**
-Next, place a fluid pan to catch any leaking trans fluid before removing axle from transmission side.
-Using a long screwdriver or pickle fork, pry the axle away from the transmission
-Remove entire axle and replace with new one
-Installation is reverse of removal steps. (not difficult, just line up the splines and everything should "pop" in place

Fix rearaxle 97 camaro

It should have a bolt through a pin holding it in place inside the diff cover. Remove the cover, find the small bolt going through the pin, remove the bolt and pin, and push inward on the axle from the hub. The retainer clip should fall, allowing you to pull the axle shaft out.
Good luck!
