Could be a case of cold solder joints like the 97-03 MY have some times. I have yet to find them, not quite as easy as the previous design.

Bad new it might be a trip to the dealer. You could pull the cluster and check for cold solder joints with a magnifying glass and find what I could not.

well it has entered anti-theft mode the most likely problem is the wires to the ignition key switch are broken look for a orange cord at base of column these are your theft wires with a ohm meter test for a open circuit with key in ignition if so broken wires.

Why would maintenance require light wont go off after engine service

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU DID A OIL CHANGE AND WANT THE LIGHT TO GO OFF.
PRESS DOWN ON THE ODOMETER KNOB ON THE SPEEDOMETER AND HOLD IT, TURN THE KEY TO POSITION 2 FOR 10 SEC, YOU WELL HEAR A BEEP, SHUT OF THE KEY LET GO THE NUTTON, START THE ENGINE LIGHT WELL STAY OFF.

Speed odometer won't work and transmission won't change gears

You probably have a check engine light staying on too. My first guess would be the speed sensor on the transmission but I would check for trouble codes first.

I have a 2000 lincoln navigator and my chec engine light came on and my scanner  pick up the code and wen we fixed the code problem the chec engine light staying on and its keeping the same codes...

The problem is probably not fixed. I would need to know the code number to make any suggestions.
Replacing a sensor does not always fix the problem if that is what you did.

Odometer light

Are all of the instrument panel lights off? Check that your dimmer is not turned down all the way to off on your multi-function control lever (turn signal) or a fuse?

2006 toyota corolla maint. required light stays on. How do I make it go out after maint.

turn the key on. press the odometer/trip button until the odometer is displayed. turn the key off. press and hold the odometer button and turn the key to the run position (do not start). The odometer should change from a number to all dashes ( - - - - - - ). One by one the dashes will disappear then the display will change to all zeros and then will change to the regular odometer reading. Once the regular odometer is displayed let go of the button and turn the key off. The maintenance light will now be reset.

2005 lexu 330, turn off maintenance light

1. With your car OFF, place your key in the ignition and turn to "On". Do not start the car.
2. Find the odometer button and press until it reads the total odometer setting, (not the Trip A or Trip B setting).
3. Turn the key to OFF.
4. Place your finger back on the odometer button, press and hold. At the same time, turn the key back to "On".
5. Hold the odometer button in until the MAINT REQD light goes out...should take about 8-10 seconds.

page 77 of the 2004 Lexus rx330 handbook...
(you will find the answer you are looking for in resetting your maintenance light.)
with the odometer reading visible, (not trip A or trip B..) turn off engine.

While keeping Odo/trip button depressed, turn ignition back on (not starting the engine) You will see dashes (instead of numbers) on your odometer disappearing one at a time. it will be replaced by 0's (zeros).. Release the Odo/trip button and your original mileage will come up....
And your done..... until the next oil change.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck

Maint req light

That just means you're due for an oil change. they automatically come on after 5000 miles. To reset the light, put it on the odometer display in your instrument cluster. turn the key off. now push and hold the odometer/trip reset button while you turn on the key to the IGN position. You will see 5 dashes on the odometer display, which will sequencially disappear and then go back to the odometer when it's done. after your odometer shows again, you can release the odometer/trip reset button and your maintenence light should be off.
