2002 Nissan Altman looseing anti freeze but nothing under the car

Many possible causes. Leak can be when you drive, but not show on your driveway. The heater could be leaking into the passenger area, though you'd likely smell the "maple syrup" smell of anti-freeze.

It's also possible that you have a head gasket leak into the coolant, causing the overheating, and blowing some of your coolant out. Get a compression test on the cooling system, and a compression check on the cylinders.

My nissan 280zx is overheating even after I redone the hole engine why

Is the engine holding it's anti-freeze? When I do a total rebuild I usually have the block and heads boiled in a hot tank and replace all the freeze plugs. If you don't have any leaks then I would try a different thermostat. Possibly a little lower degree one. You can check your thermostat by putting it in a pan of water and heating it up to boiling while monitoring the temperature with a thermometer. If it's a 180 degree thermostat you will be able to see it open about the time temperature gets 180.

Should you add additional water to a 50 50 antifreeze mix ? My son it is ok but now my car is over heating

A 50/50 mix is a ideal. Antifreeze has two benefits when properly mixed. It protects the coolant from freezing down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit and it helps remove heat from the engine. Diluted coolant in the short term is not harmful. Long term it could lead to the accelerated corrosion of vital cooling system components. Anti freeze also offers lubrication to the water pump. Less concentration will equal less lubrication. If your son is adding water than there is a leak. Adding water until the leak is fixed is fine as long as the temps don't get below freezing and the problem is addressed as soon as possible.

What are the torque specs on a 2000 Nissan maxima head

NOTE
If possible, replacement of the head bolts is suggested.
  1. If replacement of the head bolts is not possible, perform the following bolt measurement:
    1. Measure the diameter of the head bolt 0.43 in. (11mm) from the bottom of the bolt.
    2. Measure the diameter of the head bolt 1.89 in. (48mm) from the bottom of the bolt.
    3. Whenever the size difference between the 2 measurements exceeds 0.0043 in. (0.11mm) the head bolts must be replaced.
  2. Install the cylinder head bolts and torque in sequence as follows:
    1. Step 1: 72 ft. lbs. (98 Nm).
    2. Step 2: Completely loosen all bolts.
    3. Step 3: 25-33 ft. lbs. (34-44 Nm).
    4. Step 4: plus 90-95 degrees clockwise.
    5. Step 5: plus 90-95 degrees clockwise.

I have a 2002 ford ranger that runs normal while engine is running but gets hot when i shut off engine

SOUND LIKE ENGINE OVERHEATING.USE A INFRA THERMOMETER ENGINE TEMPERATURE SHOULD NOT EXCEED 104 CELSIUS WHICH IS 220 DEGREES IF ENGINE EMPERATURE GOING OVER 230. THERMOSTAT STICKING PARTIALLY CLOSED,WATER PUMP FAILING CHECK WEEP HOLE IF LEAKING REPLACE WATER PUMP.FLUSH RADIATOR ,HEATER CORE, AND ENGINE BLOCK. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50 / 50 ANTI FREEZE AND WATER.MAKE SURE ENGINE EXHAUST NOT STOPPED UP BECAUSE EXHAUST SYSTEM ALSO TAKE HEAT AWAY FROM ENGINE.

1994 GMC 350 Suerra 1500 put in a new thermostat and temperature gauge still will not reach above 160 degrees. Thermostat is a 195 degree.

It depends on what reason you want the vehicle to reach 160 degrees. It seems 160 would be high to run a vehicle at. Nevertheless, if the mixture of anti-freeze and water at the correct mixture. If the mixture is not correct and it is more water than anti-freeze this will effect the heating temperature of the coolant.
