Dear Timing Belt.....
You should expect a legitimate shop that knows what they're doing o charge you around $475 for the timing belt job on your car......that would be including parts and labor.....should also not take more than one day for them to complete that maint.item...if you have anymore questions please get back to me...I'm here to help!!!

Should timing belt tensioner be replaced on 2001 pt cruiser?

It is highly recommended that the timing belt tensioner be replaced any time the belt is replaced, if the bearing in the tensioner failed it will take out the new belt in an instant.

I am somewhat a good mechanic. I have a blown head gasket on my 2001 PT Cruiser, Im wondering how difficult it is to remove the head to get it checked out and then replace the new gasket. I have already...

It should'nt be to hard for you since your a mechanic, there are a lot of steps (too many to type)..
I would go down to the AutoZone parts store and buy a book on this paticular car, about $20.00. You will get all torque specs, thighting sequence--ect...
I think if you take your time, you can do it...Good Luck

Looking for a diagrahn of a 2001 pt cruiser

The tensioner will be down lower and it will have a large metal roller wheel attached to it that is pushing against the timing belt to take the slack out of the timing belt, and you should be able to see it if the timing cover is removed, here is a picture of what you are looking for, and let me know if you still can not find it, or you require further assistance .5658e28.jpg

2001 PT Cruiser quit running driving down highway

Most likely a cam sensor or a crank sensor. The timing belt didn't break did it? They also have an issue with the timing belt tensioner going bad and jumping a tooth.
