Yes, this sounds normal. It will always run about mid point. It should not go beyond the mid point when you are moving down the road. In city driving this is normal. If you have never serviced the cooling system this would be a good time to do it on a 9 year old car.

Have you filled the tank to see if the gauge is accurate ?

My 2000 plymouth grand voyager is smokim white out the muffler and has a little of a smell to it?

Sounds like the rings inside a broken or worn out or maybe to much oil in the sump.
generally white bluish smoke is burning oil, black smoke is excess petrol

You need to check your main fuses under the hood first and then check them under the driver side dash board.

Where on the intake is the fan control sensor for a 1997 grand voyager

I am assuming you are meaning cooling fan. Your cooling fan is operated by your vehicle computer, via a coolant temp sensor. Not coolant temp sender!!! The sender goes to your light or gauge. The sensor goes to the PCM, which operates your cooling fan. The first thing to do is check your fan to see if it works. Unplug fan and wire two wires, one to one side of fan plug in, one to the other side of plug, one goes to positive battery terminal, one wire to negative. If fan comes on, you have a bad sensor or relay. If fan does not come on, replace fan.

Disconnect the wires leading to both of the fans. Remove the cross-member that goes over the radiator. Remove the four bolts securing the fan assembly and lift it out.

Faulty petrol gauge

I had same problem with petrol gauge bouncing around all over the place, full tank, half a tank and nearly empty in the space of 10 miles.

I knew that if I filled the tank I would get approx 200 miles for half a tank so I did that for a while and just kept topping up. Audi testing it and the fuel sensors in the tank had to be replaced. I'm afraid its the only permanent solution!
