No the fuse is good or it would not run at all. You have a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack. It will be located behind the glove box, behind the passenger kick panel, or somewhere near the blower motor. Purchase the part so you will know what to look for.

You'll also want to purchase a new harness (pig tail) along with the resistor. The pig tail is usually the problem, something with the connectors and ground...gets hot and melts....if you just put a resistor in, you'll probably just need another one down the road. There are sites where you can buy the resistor and harness as a kit, easy to install, and cheaper than GM. GM harness (its only a connector with about 8 wires 12" long) is like $100, you can buy an aftermarket kit for $80 with the resistor. less than a 30 min job. This is a common problem...been there and done that. The resistor is located right by the blower motor by the passenger kick panel, it's held in with two 5.5mm screws if I remember correctly.

My heater and a/c are not working. The car is not overheating and the cabin gets warm when the engine heats up. What could the problem be please?

Hi Cheri, do you mean the fan is not blowing air out of the air vents?

if so could be one of three problems;
(1) blown fuse on a/c heater circuit.
(2) sized or faulty blower/ fan motor.
(3) faulty fan speed resistor.

Heater / air conditioner fan control doesn't engage fan. Previously, it only worked in high speed.

I would replace the blower motor resistor first then see if that corrects this. The resistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash.

My 03 galant has an electrical issue. My heater and air conditioner work just fine but the fans stopped working. What could be my problem

if the fan still works on highest setting only the fan speed resistor block is faulty.
if the fan doesnt work on highest setting check for power at fan while on highest setting with globe test light, as well as checking fuse for fan. 2 wires one power other is earth. if power is there the fan motor needs replacing so long as the earth wire is also ok check with voltmeter on Ohms for continuity should be a couple of Ohms any higher is no good.

My air conditioner/heater blower will not work on the 4th setting. Setting 1,2, and 3 do work. I have replaced fan speed switch and replaced the resistor. Any ideas?

You'll have to find the correct wiring diagram in order to trace down the fault in your system.. Once you obtain the wiring diagram you'll be able to see what else beside wire is between the #4 speed setting and the blower motor. My guess is you might find a high speed fan relay is triggered from the #4 fan switch setting, applying full battery voltage to the blower motor. If locating the appropriate diagram proves to be difficult you can try looking around the underhood and passenger compartment fuse panel to find a relay. Keep in mind not all relays are always in fuse boxes which makes the diagram important.

Heater fan only works on "high speed"

All cars are designed with a blower fan motor that pushes air through the ventilation system. This air is processed by a series of vents to direct the air to various positions. Example: heater, air conditioner and defrost modes. Most blower motors are power by a basic electrical circuit that utilizes a multi resistor or a solid-state resistor to control different fan speed modes (low, medium low, medium and high). If the resistor malfunctions it may lose one or more of the lower fan speed settings.
