Question about 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

I own a 2008 malibu. I can hear a slight knocking sound just before I come to a stop. I also have lost some power since I purchased the car.

Probably one of your rod bearings is going out and knocking when under load. Get it fixed before it stops completely.

Check for clearance between the rotor and the caliper,and caliper to the rim.Make sure one ,or more of the brake pads where not accidently put on backwards,with the metal on the rotor,it happens sometimes.

Just replaced doesnt eliminate the intermediate shaft, could have been a defective part or poor installation. Other then that, it can be as simple as a sway bar link and or frame bushings

If you have a lot of black smoke then its over fueling getting to much diesel to the cylinder's. Sounds like an injector problem with the slight knocking noise. Che ck the return pipes are not blocked. If the smoke is dark brown then this is a problem with the valves on the intake manifold which control's the intake of exhaust emmisions.

not the grade of the gas, you may have gotten some dirty gas. clean out the fuel line and change the fuel filter.
add a can of injector clean.
