My freelander has an intermittant fuel problem. Some times it will not start and other times it will sparadically start revving without my foot on the accelarator? I have had the fuel pump and fuel sensor...

The problem is likely the Throttle Position Sensor. Simple testing instructions using a multimeter can be found in any of the standard manuals like Haynes, Chilton's etc.

Where is the fuel filter as I am servicing my 1999 freelander and need to change the fuel filter

Lefthand side of the engine compartment bulkhead, if its a diesel, beneath the rear seat, (fold down), remove inspection panel, and remove pump, filter is inside, for petrol.

Freelander cuts out a soon as you touch the throttle after starting and will not start again till 10 to 20 mins after is this an electrical fault? thanks

Try cleaning the fuel pump filter. the filter is on the bottom of the pump inside the tank. You get to the tank from under the seat behind the driver. Job takes 10 mins.
