Also check the fuse box for a fuel pump relay............Either the relay is bad or the fuel pump.... It is fuel injection so it has to have a certain pressure to work..good luck.

The radiator fan on my 2007 bmw 525i works fine while car is driving. Once i stop at a red light or in traffic the the fan stops working, ac blows hot air and mins later the car overheats. The car has a...

My guess is that your electric fan is NOT operating at all. Under normal conditions, just going down the highway, your cooling system will function just fine without a fan running. The air flow through the radiator is adequate to keep things cool. However, when you stop, you quickly get into an "overheat" situation. Actually, you should be able to hear your fan begin operating when your engine temperature starts climbing or your air conditioner requires the fan to do its thing. Note: If you've ever severely overheated your engine, your problems may be worse than just a fan not running, but you really do need to confirm whether your fan is operating correctly, or not. Another note: I had a vehicle with a tendency to overheat when stopped. It turned out to be a faulty (leaking) pressure cap on the cooling system.

Tip

Heating up your car

It seems simple, but you can make a big difference by turning off your radio, wipers, climate control, all of those accessories, when you start the car. Most of the wear on the engine happens when you start the car, and by turning off those accessories, your engine doesn’t have to work as hard when starting.
Another thing people do is revving the engine in the winter. This actually doesn’t help “warm up” the car. Although it does technically make the engine hotter, it’s not the kind of “warming up” that you want. Revving your engine in the winter causes extreme temperature changes right away, which is actually the opposite of what you want. When you start the car, the oil hasn’t yet worked its way through the system, so the engine is working without lubricant. The right way to do it is just let the car sit and idle for about 30 seconds to a minute at the least.

2004 mazda mpv engine racing and cooling fan not working

coolant temp sensor tells the computer how hot or cold the engine is so it can regulate the idle and fuel mixture, when it fails there usually is no cooling fan and you will have trouble starting the engine and keeping it running.

I have 2001 Buick Regal where when the heater/ac is turned on you can hear the fan work but the vent won't open and close.

When you say that the "vent won't open and close" do you mean that the mode control is stuck on defrost - no matter which position you put the switch in? If this is the case, you most likely have a broken vacuum line in your engine compartment. You will find a plastic vacuum line going through your firewall. This line connects to the intake manifold on your engine. I can't tell you exactly where, because the service manual doesn't actually say and also you forgot to mention which engine you have. You will find it if you look for it. The plastic line is most likely broken. This can be fixed by using a small piece of rubber vacuum tubing to "splice" the line back together.

Hi there, ya that sounds like your fan stopped working. There is a few different things you can check. The fuse for the fans The relay that controls the fans, and the fans themselves. You really should get that checked out, eventually your engine will start to overheat which can lead to major damage. If you dont feel up to do the job yourself any compitant auto shop can check it out for you. Hope that is helpfull.

After I turn off the engine of my 300zx I can hear what sounds like a fan blowing for a while and then it shuts off. What is the problem?

There is no problem, the cooling fan is supposed to cool even after the car has stopped. It can actually start up at any time without the key so be careful when working around the engine.

When I try to start my 2008 Pontiac G6 the only sound is a sort of clicking and then three messages come up on the info radio display. The messages are: "Service traction" "Service...

The clicking you are hearing is the starter solenoid attempting to engage your flywheel of the engine. So you do have some battery life and your battery cables aren't totally bad. So now we need to try to determine what the problem is.

First, try to jump start the car. If that works and the car starts. IMMEDIATELY, take it to an auto parts store and ask them to test your battery and alternator. Replace whichever one is bad.

If it doesn't start, then it is either your starting circuit or the engine. So you need to take off your serpentine belt and try to turn the engine (in neutral or out of gear) by hand (actually with a large socket wrench). If it turns, then you have either a bad starter solenoid or a bad starter - replace them! If you can't turn the engine by hand then the problem is internal to the engine and something is locking your flywheel.

The other warning messages are not uncommon if you attempt to start your vehicle and it doesn't start.

My venture 2003 running smothly but 1 morning when started i heared something like a sound of fan between the 2 seat on 2nd row seat.. is there a problem with my car.. i never heared this before.. thanks

If you can hear it outside the vehicle in the area of the seats. Then it is probably your fuel pump making the noise. If it doen`t make the noise with the key on and engine not running then it is the fuel pump.It could go for a long time like this or it could go out at anytime. The one in my car lasted over a year but that doesn`t mean they all do.
