Can anyone tell me where thermostate is on 1988 f150 straight 6

Just follow the upper radiator hose to the housing that it is connected to. Remove the radiator hose, and then the housing itself. The thermostat is under the housing. be sure to remove all the old gasket and install a new one when you put it back together.

Tried getting ford f150 4.2 2003 inspected. Replaced air filter and fuel filter already. Check engine lit was on before replacing them . Now check engine light is out . But won't pass inspection.

As for your codes p1131 and 1151: Ford - Lack Of Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Switches - Sensor Indicates Lean

Last week I had the very same catalyst, evap and ECG codes come up on my 1999 Mercury Mystique which is like a Ford Taurus. A friend was able to find a hole or leak in the hose connected, replaced it and it runs fine. I havent run it a full and straight 50 miles yet to clear the check engine light but that repair alone changed the entire way the car was poorly driving. Im sure that hasnt fixed all the probs but thats a good starting point.

A possible blocked fuel filter, defective fuel filler cap, blocked fuel tank breather pipe, blocked injectors or faulty float in any carburetor version.

It seems to me that you have an air leak somewhere in the fuel vacuum system. Get some check all obvious vacuum lines. If not check the gasket directly under the fuel system. (That is , if you have carburator system.) If it is Electronic Fuel Injector, check all the valves like the IAC (Idle Air Control ) it is near or on the air cleaner filter. Take it off and clean it with carb cleaner. Or spray the valve directly through the hole in the EFI . Run the car to oopwerating temerture. Then take off the duct work from the air filter system. Run the engine to about 12-1300 RPM and spray directly inside to the side of the hole where the hose goes into the EFI. Do this as many times as need about 3 times will tell you if this is the problem. Spray liberally for a good 10 secs. Stop the engine , let the cleaner soak in, then repeat the process. Check the EGR valve located at the front of the engine connected to the big rubber hose that goes into the air cleaner connection. Check for leaks coming from the EGR or replace the EGR if your not sure . they are not that expensive.

I have a 94 f150 straight six with a bad exhaust leak and cant find the leak

just put it on a lift... start it up and follow your ears.... you can also use your hands to feel the air pressure coming out of the leak as long as you don't actually touch the pipe.
