This axle is held into the transmission by a circular round internal retaining clip called a "CIR" clip, they can be very difficult to remove and I answer this question often.
Here is how you get the axle out, u must pull straight out on the axle in a quick snapping motion, a large Cresent adjustable wrench used as a slide hammer helps, also u can hit the back of the CV joint with a 2 pound brass faced hammer, but remember you must pull the axle straight out, it will not relase if the angle is more than a few degress's off center, even as a professional having done dozens of these the challenge is the same and very few are easy to get out, be patient and follow my instructions it will snap out.

Volvo v70 problems

They usually won't just come straight out due to the design of the snap ring. What you can do is get under the car and place two long screwdrivers between axle and transmission, (crude drawing provided) and put force against the axle as if your trying to pry it out, not heavy force, just some good tension pressure. Have a friend grap the other end of the axle and wiggle it up/down, around and around, it won't hurt to really give it a wiggle. As the axle is wiggled, pry that axle out, it should pop right out slick as glass. Hope you got it!b6b19478-ff6b-4da0-abd1-859f293c238b.jpg

How to dismantnle axle on 89 honda civic

CAUTION: It is advisable to get this job done by a qualified technician otherwise you will take the consequences.
Do the following job at your own risk.

- Place the car on a level floor.
- Pull up the hand brake.
- Block the rear wheels with wheel stoppers, wooden blocks or bricks.
- Call a friend or relative to depress the foot brake, turn the steering wheel little towards left side and put the car in 4th gear.
- Loosen the axle nut force fully (large one in the center of wheel) with a socket and double extension rod.
- Loosen the four wheel nuts.
- Lift up the front left wheel with Jack, place a support under the strong chassis and remove the jack.
- Remove all the wheel nuts and remove the front left wheel.
- Place a container or tray under the inner CV joint to preserve the transmission oil which will come out unavoidably during the axle removal.
- Remove the lower ball joint nut.
- Remove the tie rod end.
- You don't have to remove the hub completely but to release it a little.
- Pull the hub out by pressing the CV joint in and take the outer end of the CV joint out of the hub.
- Place a strong long chisel like lever between the inner CV joint cup and the transmission and push the cup away from the transmission to take the lock out of its host.

When turning right or left I hear a loud clunk, which I can feel, as tho the car is overcoming some tension and then releasing. I just replaced both front axles and the clunk remains. Lots of ps fluid...

either the top bearings on the struts or the lower track control arms ,remember that when the front struts are changed the original beariings are put back on

My blower on my 1998 volvo v70 xc is not blowing

The most common problem is either the blower motor or the speed control resistor. Both items can be accessed by removing the glove box and panel below it.
