Try some simple things first like, checking to see if you have enough fuel, fuses and relays.
If you have the correct tool, you can remove the fuel line to see if the fuel pump is pushing fuel when you turn on the ignition. One major find in my travels is, the coil lead wire going to the distributer may have dislodged. On 5.7 litre engines this lead wire is in the front, unscrew the air flow pipes to get better access.
