You merely open the door, and unbolt the bolts/nuts from the frame. You could support the door on a small table while you remove the hinge-bolts. You may have to get into the door panel to disconnect the wiring plugs.

We need to know Year, Make & Model of the car.
I'm assuming that u r missing the vehicle book and haven't called the dealership.
JIC: it's normally located on the driver side, somewhere near your left knee.
It could be on the "kick-panel" (under the dashboard, on the side of the interior wall, forward of where the driver-door hindges).
It could also be on the floor near the driver side car seat. Look around, @ the front left area of the car seat where the seat bolts to the floor. Possibly btwn. the seat and the door.
Also, look up, under the bottom left side of the dashboard. It will look like a small square that u will pull down.
Some vehicles have a button that u push. Some will b in the driver-side door panel, some older vehicles have this button in the glove-box.
Finally, there might be a trunk button on your car remote/dongle.
Hope this helps

The front door is not aligned. since the hindges are welded; is the only thing keeping the door straight is the pin & bushing?

  • yea, that's about it other than the frame they are connected too. If you took a hit to the vehicle (bent frame) this could be part of the problem as well.

Door hinge stretching

I just changed mine and it cost around 40-45 dollars. It took around 1 hour to complete with a second person. Go online and google the hindge assembly for the modle and year vehicle there are many parts dealers with great prices out there. All you need is a floor jack, an open end or closed end wrench, rope to tie off the door and time. Not a big deal

Can't open door

inspect the door hindge pins and busings it sounds like they are getting worn out and maybe due for replacement. also look and see if the spring in the hindge is still their. if all is well have the door adjusted properly to repair your problem.

Driver side door lock

The switch is finding its ground thru the interior light switch. Your problem is most likely a broken wire in side the rubber boot that goes from the door to the body near the door hindges.
