Why does the head light flick while driving and the battery light flicker

Your alternator is not properly charging. This could be from a variety of reasons including a loose belt, so get it checked out soon. Hope this helps.

Head and dashboard lights keep flashing on and off

First:

Have your battery load tested as these Durangos are VERY sensitive to a failing battery.

Second, you might be a candidate for a failing CTM or Central Timing Module. Are there any other strange things going on??

Lights, locks, wipers not working 2001 Dodge Durango R/T

Your Durango possibly needs a CTM or Central Timing Module. The module is located behind the kick panel down by the drivers feet on the left.

The repair commands a ~$500 price for parts and labor, and they will need both your remote fobs to program them to the system.
