Its not that expensive to do anymore, however it all depends if the exhaust system had been modified, if it has you will have to go to an exhaust shop

Where is the 02 Oxygen Sensor before the cadalic converter on a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe

Usually these are located on the exhaust manifold or just below the exhaust manifold and you should be able to see it in the engine bay. On V6 engines there will be one sensor on each of the 2 exhaust banks.
You will probably need to remove the engine cover to see the sensors on your exhaust.

If someone told you to replace these because you got a particular fault code I would be wary. A decent scan tool and basic diagnostics can show if the 02 sensor is working or not. Some faults often blamed on an 02 sensor are not due to faulty sensors.

How can you tell which catalytic converter is bad on an 03 navigator

You have 4 oxygen sensors,1 at each exhaust manifold and 1 after each catalytic converters.Usually a scan tool won't pin point which sensor is bad.It can get real expensive just replacing parts. The easy and cheapest way to find out is take to dealer for oil change and they will scan it for free and tell you what is wrong and the cost, you have option,to let them repair or fix yourself, now you know what is wrong,I take my Truck to dealer for oil changes to get free scan.

My 1999 honda odyssey have a light on in the check engine, i went to the mechanic & plug it to the small computer, the computer said no response to code P0138B BANK 1 SENSOR 2 HIGHT VOLT, the mechanic...

There is are upstream and downstream O2 sensors. 1 or 2 (upstream) before the catalytic converter which sends signals for closed loop fuel control and OBD II monitoring, and 1 (downstream) after the catalytic converter, which is used to monitor the catalytic converter operation. The PCM monitors the signal from each O2 sensor.

I have been told that my catalytic converters are

you can do it yourself it will only cost the price of the catalytic converters, first i would disconnect them and visually inspect them if you see that they look like a honey comb with no obstruction of the holes than they are fine but if you see black residue or even some melting of the material than i would replace them. hope this helps you.

Orange 'engine' light is on. Am told it needs catalytic converter(& sensor). Will it hurt anything to drive it as it is w/o fixing?

It will hurt your fuel economy, performance and the environment.

When the catalytic converter is completely clogged. The body of the cat. will glow red hot and melt the surround material.

Example: interior carpet.

Don't for the distinctive sulfur smell.

In short, you should replace the catalytic converter as soon as possible.

1989 honda civic dx 1.5L needs water pump among other things

Starting w the timing belt, It must be removed to replace the water pump, there's shouldn't be any addtl labor involved to install a new one. Since the fuel is leaking & the converter is overheating you are asking for BIG TROUBLE if u don't replace them both. Fuel & converters DONT MIX!
