Have the ignition checked ASAP. There is a wire broken, loose, or worn.
This entails removing the steering column shroud and inspecting the wires.

Smoke steering colum 92 integra erattic speedomator

The sppedometer is controlled by a vehicle speed sensor in the transmission. This is most likely the cause of the speedometer not working. Smoke from the steering column is usually caused by a bad signal/multifunction switch

My 2005 buick rendezvous has been attempted to be stolen cant start it with key

if they tried to pull the wheel lock located in the steering colum. they may have damaged the key sensor that read you security codes off the key. which means you`ll need to replace the key sensor in the colum. Unless they pulled a wire off under the steering colum. look down the steering colum and up underneath and see if there are any plugs out. PS some cars are designed of extra accessories which case you may find a few plugs away from the colum that aren`t connected to any thing these won`t be the issue but.

Burning smell and small amount of smoke from the steering column

sounds like you have a short in the steering colume causing the smell and the there something that is not working that was before this happened that is controlled by the switches on the colume.this can indicate what switch is bad and causing the will have to be checked out to know what item in the colume is the problem.

Need to remove steering column on a 1992 lincoln town car

Remove the steering wheel, turn signal reset (plastic), remove clip and spring. Remove trim to expose the entire colum. Disconnect all connectors. There are four main bolts holding the colum up. Remove the bolts and lower the colum. At the end of the steering shaft there is a bolt going through the colum. Remove the bolt. The colum can then be removed.

No such thing. Someone was blowing smoke up your ****. The power steering pump adjusts how easy or hard the vehicle steers. It is non adjustable.
