Have a look in your owners manual, it will tell you what number fuse it is. Also most manufacturers put the legend right on the back of the fuse cover. Pleas let me know if this was helpful, I strive to please!

I think it is the same as the cigarette lighter. See if that works. Then look in your manual in the glove box. There is a list of all your fuses.

What do i do when the fuses on a 2004 ford taurus starts to blow out

What fuse? The lighter fuse? If you have having multiple fuses for different circuits blowing you should take it to a dealership right away. Don't risk having the car catch fire and burn up.

The Cigar lighter / DTC connector fuse is Fuse #41.

If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

Fuse box number for cig lighter for ford 2001 taurus

You can get a .pdf version of the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner's Manual at: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2001&make=Ford&model=Taurus

It has instructions and guides for finding and replacing the fuses in a 2001 Ford Taurus. It starts on page 146-147.

Always use the specific Owner's Manual for the correct Model Year of a Ford or Mercury vehicle. I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus, and had thought that I could use the Owner's Manual from a 1999 Mercury Sable from a friend. BUT, I figured out that each model year can be very different (before any serious damage happened.) Good luck.
