If you disconnect the battery hit the brake pedle and wait about a min and then hook the batterys back up you should be fine, best way to do it with out having to go to a shop to have them clear it, but if it comes back on have it checked out.

I have a 2007 300c awd hemi. i had the check engine ight come on. google said to pull the number 11 fuse now the car wont start. do i have to reset the computer

Did you put back. Pulling a fuse will not reset the light you have a problem the only way to do that is find out what is wrong. I think starting problem was caused by pulling the fuse. Put fuse back and give me an update

Replacing a fuse and accidentally pulled a couple of fuses out now the check engine light is on and won't go off. i would like to see a fuse diagram.

There should be a fuse diagram in the owner's manual if you have one.

Usually you can disconnect the battery cable, negative side for about five minutes and reconnect to clear the check engine light, unless something is still causing it to reset.

Good luck and have a nice evening. Peter

Well, I would clear the code and see if it comes back.

The O2 sensor code could have occurred when the car shut off and the fuse being pulled may have been related to that.

So, I would drive it a while and if the engine light comes back on, then change the O2 sensor to see if the problem will go away.

I hope this helps.

Got 2008 3500 dodge, was working on trailer lightsand was checking fuses and pulled wrong fuse and check engine light come on. how do i get it off?

The only way to turn off the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) or "check engine Light", is to either use a scanner to reset the MIL, or you can dis-connect the battery for three minutes, but if you do dis-connect the battery you will have to re-set the radio and anything else that has a KAM (Keep Alive Memory).

My horn randomly started to beep while I was driving

There is something wrong with the wiring in the steering wheel.Pull the fuse out for now untill you can get it fixed. It is usually located under your hood in the fuse box.It will cause the service engine light to come on though.

Check engine light comes on intermittently. Code 14, replaced air idle control valve. Ck engine light still comes on. What the problem?

If you are secure that the repair was done correctly, pull the 7.5 backup fuse (with the car turned off) in the under hood fuse box and wait 10 or 15 seconds before putting it back in. That should clear your engine light. You will have to reset your clock, and any selected radio settings.
If you do not have an anti-theft radio, you could simply disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 or 15 seconds and that would do the same thing, but if you have an anti-theft radio that would require a code reset, meaning that you would have to have the five digit code.
If the engine light comes back on after the reset, then something has gone wrong with the repair.
Hope this helps.

Reset check engine light after repairs. Which fuse? 99 New Beetle

goto a sears automotive center, walmart, pepboys or some place like that, they sell OBD 2 code readers for the car, you connect it up to the computer and it will tell you what the code is that is setting the light off on the dash, if it is what you fixed, then you click on the the button to reset the light and you are done... the OBD2 readers can be anywhere from $20 to $40 or so dollars from those places. just get a cheap one cause that will save you a lot of money. but atleast then if the light ever comes on again you can connect the reader up read the code and fix the problem that is causing the check engine light to come on...hope this helps and saves you money

Check engine

hi notcarsmart
im dave

there is a common problem with this generation jetta. on the crankcase ventillation system you will find a y-shaped piece of rubber that is prone to disintergration and leaks. check it out and if that is the problem replace it. to reset the light (and you should try to keep this in mind for future use as most of the time that the check engine light(MIL) comes on in these vehicles there is nothing wrong and no codes stored) park the car with the engine running. Open the drivers side door and remove the fuse box panel cover. You will see a series of fuses in there but you need only to focus on the mini ones on top. The fuse you need to pull is the third row down from the top in the centre and is a 10 amp fuse (i believe it is marked as MIL on the fuse directory). Pull it out with the car running. The car will stall out but that is perfectly harm done. Re-insert the fuse close the panel and restart the engine. The yellow light of doom should now be out. If the light comes on again rather quickly there is probably a fault code stored. Everyone who owns a VW should own their own OBD(On-Board Diagnostics) tool. has one specifically for VW's from 1996 to present for around $75.00 and an optional software upgrade for a little more. It only requires that you own a computer to use it (which I believe most people have nowadays). A shop charges you for each time they pull your codes so the first time you use it will pay for itself. Also if you have friends/acquaintances with VW's im sure they'd rather give you $30-40 dollars to pull the codes than give a shop $80. And you can reset the light with the tool. Another more unlikely cause of your light and shake is the MAF(Mass Air Flow) sensor but you would need the diagnostic tool to check or swap it with another Jetta owners known good MAF sensor.
