My 2005 Grand Prix kicks back when I go up a hill. It's okay when on level ground and going downhill. It's at 230 km. Do I need to buy a new vehicle?

Take the car for a tune up and to get a free trouble code. They should tell you what is happening. You don't need to buy a new one if your engine is clean. If you check the oil and find a whitish color it means it has water in the combustion chamber. then maybe you should consider buying a newer car. listen for strange , rough sounds while driving.

Here is the PDF owners manual for your car. You have accidentally switched unit type on your (DIC) menu. Please scroll to page 3-52 and it will tell you how to switch from Metric to English

The heater doesn't warm up in my 2005 Grand Prix. The blower works, but no heat! Is it just a thermostat or am I looking at something more expensive to fix?

if the tempature gauge reads normal warm the vehicle up and feel the heater hoses wich are located on the right side of the vehicle if one is alot warmer than the other you probaly have a plugged heater core remove the hoses and take the hoses off and run a hose through one of the hoses until it comes out clear. it could also be just low coolant and topping off the coolant could solve this problem temporaily but if it is low it is leaking.

2011 Hyundai Sonota Cruise Control: My new sonota's cruise control does not brake the vehicle when going down a hill. The car begins to increase its speed by over 20 km per hr and would exceed that amount...

I just bought a 2011 Sonata and am experiencing the same problem. Going downhill with cruise set at 55 mph; speed increased to 70 mph and was still accelerating (from the downhilll grade) when I finally pressed on the brake.
This is not normal. My Honda Accord never varied from the cruise setting by more than 3 or 4 mph ... going uphill or downhill.

Another cause could be a bad ground on the starter. Cleaning the connection might help.

TOYOTA TAZZ KICK BACK...

It sounds like it is loosing spark somewhere on the ignition circuit. e.g HT leads, distributor cap, one or more spark plugs faulty. The above usually happens when the engine is taking more load than usual, like going up a hill and the r.p.m at about 1500 - 3000.Try it again in a lower gear 1st or 2nd with the motor r.p.m high, about 5000 revolutions per minute.

Phillip

Engine light flashes when going up hill.

sometimes when you are going up hill your check engine light or your oil light will come on because all of the oil is at the back of your oil pan.
