Why does the mass air flow code comes back after replacing the sensor?

Mass Air Flow sensor just measures incoming air flow at a predetermined rpm/load. The computer is saying the flow measurement is not correct. This can be caused by mechanical faults within the engine like a bad valve seat or timing chain but would generally be accompanied by backfires through the intake. Usually its caused by a vacume leak between the sensor and the intake valve, like the intake manifold, loose intake pipe clamps, broken vacume lines,a leaking vacume brake booster [it will hiss loud when you apply the brake],bad spark plugs/wires, a clogged catalytic converter, stuck open egr valve or pcv valve, bad oxygen sensor or even a very clogged air filter. I know there is a lot listed but the MAF or MAP sensors show general flow through the engine that can be affected by several things. A vacume tester from your local auto parts store is about 30bucks and usually has instructions how to test for vac. leaks within the engine also to determine a if thers is bad valve seat or clogged exhaust.

Po171, po174

Those codes are for "lean" fuel mixture conditions. Look for vacuum hoses or intake vacuum leaks. I asume that this is a 4.6 or 5.4 liter engine in which case there may be a problem with intake manifold gaskets leaking or injector "o" rings leaking. I would advise you to have it diagnosed by a qualified technician and verify the lean condition's cause. Other reason's for lean conditions can be low fuel pressure or bad fuel regulator. Or, possible clogged fuel filter. Ther is also a chance that the oxygen sensors may be causing this.
hope this helps

Admission code PO174

There are many causes for this code.First i would get a can of carb cleaner and spray around all of the vacuum hoses and intake manifold and look for a vacuum leak. Make sure to inspect the PVC hose for burns or melting. If ther is no leaks then i would take the mass air flow sensor off and clean it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner and let dry for 15 minures then re-install.

Inoperable endine cooling fans

The fans on your car should come on at 232 degrees, and when the A/C is on for a few minutes. You can swap the fan relay with another from your fuse box that is the same for testing. The most common problem is the ECT (engine coolant temprature) sensor. It is under the throttle body where the upper radiator hose goes into the intake. It is a 2 wire sensor that will be brass and black plastic. That car has another sensor for the gauge. Good Luck
