When to change a timing chain on 07 tundra 5.7l

Timing chains do not need replacing unless broken, or overhauling is being done.
Timing belts are changed on a regular basis of around 60,000 miles, or per manufacturer's recommendation.

Does the 2004 toyota tundra have timing belt or a timing chain

Both the V6 an V8 engines have a timing belt.
Most companies recommend replacement at 60,000 to 80,000 miles.

Tuneup 2006 tundra

A "tune up" is not rquired on this engine, the computer makes al necessary adjustments, there is nothing to adjust. Possibly spark plug replacement if it's a V-6 they should be replaced at 30,000 miles the V-8 engines use iridium plugs which last about 100,000 miles, the timing belt on both engines should be replaced at 90,000 miles, replace the air filter every 30,000 and change oil and filter at 4,000 miles. I would aslo recommend cleaning the carbon out of the throttle body at around 60,000 miles to prevent low idle and stalling.

How many years or miles should a timing belt be changed on a 2000 V8 Tundra ?

Replace the timing belt at 90,000 miles or 10 years. Considering it is already 11 years old, replace it now. Warning: This is an interference engine. If the belt breaks you will have serious internal engine damage. The water pump is also driven by the cam belt so it is advisable to replace it at the same time you replace the cam belt in order to save labor cost later on when the pump fails. The pump will not last 180,000 miles so replace it now.

Is there a timing belt in the 2004 Tundra V8 or Chain? If it's a belt when should it be replaced and what is the estimated cost?

Hello. Welcome to FixYa.

Yes, the 2004 Tundra V-8 has a timing belt.

The recommended replacement interval is 90,000 miles.

Expect to pay about 5-6 hours labour, at your area's going labour rate, and about 60 dollars for the belt.

Thanks for choosing FixYa today.

Going to take a 4,000 mile trip. My 2001 V8 Tundra has 200,000 miles on it and has never been turned up. She still runs like a dream and I can still stand outside, turn the ignition key and get and instant...

Like dad always said,if it an`t broke, don`t fix it,oil change air filter, chassie lube, tire check, and fuel filter, and check the belts, and hoses,if need to,replace as needed,Tune up is optional,if you like. For better fuel millege ,yes, but ,tires hoses belts, things like this are very important, not to break down.

It is due, think about it. Its 5 years old, and Toyota recommends 80,000 miles for Timing Belt replacement. And when you change that, do the water pump because its right there too!!!
