Can't figure out how to remove the steering column on 1992 jeep wrangler without breaking it .Non tilt , v6 4.0 litre.

First, a 4.0L is an in line six cylinder not a V engine. But, exactly what can't you remove? There are bolts that hold it to the dash and a coupler on the column either on the passenger side or engine side of the firewall. Couplers either have a bolt that goes through and fits into a notch on the shaft or a drift pin that needs to be driven through to disengage it. If you have an air bag (don't think yours does) you need a manual to outline safety procedures to prevent deployment. (horn pad will say air bag and there will be a yellow wire under the dash with caution tags on it if you do)
Make sure you make reference marks so when you re-install, you end up with the wheel in the correct position.
Make sure you carefully unplug all harnesses and cables after lowering the unit from the dash and mark them also.

95 Jeep Wrangler. When select 4wd lo or high,

there is a vacumn shift motor on your front passenger side axle. these are notorious for problems. check it to make sure it is working.

06 Wrangler...steering pump noise..whines when turned to lock...told by chrysler that all wranglers do it...bs..is it a known item that all wranglers make noise like the steering pump is out of fluid????

No pump should be noisy, though if only noisy when wheels are turned all the way to either side, that is normal. Once turned to the point where the pump first begins to make noise you really don't have any more wheel movement and turning the steering wheel further does very little except cause the noise. I've found that on many Jeeps the steering stop bolts on the lower control arms are set too far in and can be turned back a bit. That may help somewhat.

Wrangler 89 wont shut off with ignition switch

then the ignition switch sounds to be in need of replacement ...

tilt wheel ?
if so many of the wires over time tend to bend and break causing a lost connection and either removal of the lower panel of the steering column needs to be inspected with a test light to determine the connection from the ignition .
another way as i asked if tilt wheel try lowering the wheel to see if it will make contact to the ignition again ..

repair or replacement is required

I have a 2002 jeep wrangler that seems to start shaking at 60mph below or over ok. It is not major but noticeable. Where do I start looking? Thanks Dan

Grab hold off the prop-shaft to see if it is quite solid, it could be a worn UJ. Check the balance weight on the same shaft to ensure it hasn't slipped forward or backwards on the shaft.
Then get wheels checked, they could need re-balancing.

Steering wheel turns more than the wheels turn. fight to keep straight

with engine off, have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth. Check under the hood along the steering shaft for loose u-joints. check the steering box, check joints at either end of drag link(from steering box down to passenter wheel) and tie rod ends. do this with engine off so wheels dont turn. and by the way, jeeps have sloppy steering boxes from the factory, so don't expect excellent, tight steering when you're done. good luck

4 wheel drive doesnt work.

Has this Jeep been modified at all?
It sounds like the shifter cable was reinstalled backwards.
Specifically the 4-Low "Not Climbing Well". 4-Low should give you the best torque and hill climbing ability.
Do you feel any "Binding" in the steering wheel (difficult to turn)?
Remember a Jeep uses real driveshafts and differentials to give you 4WD - you cannot engage 4WD or 4-Low on dry hard surfaces. It needs a little bit of slip between the wheels for turns.
Check you're fluids too.

1988 Wrangler Ignition Switch Removal

There are four (sometimes two) bolts that hold the steering column to the dash. remove them & column will come down to let you get in there.
follow instruction sheet with switch. if you don't get it centered correctly it wont work correctly.
