Question about 1996 Dodge Caravan
When i put on the breaks my van shimmeys like your going over bumps or somethingwas told it was rotors so got new rotors and pads for the front thats where it sounds like its comming from still does it. i have a small dent in back rim and bald tire front driver side could that cause it
Although "Rotors" would have been a good guess, the wheel bearings, ball joint and tie rods should all have been checked after the wheels were lifted off the ground. Also the Caliper Bolts and/or Bolt Guides should be checked to see if they are warped. Warpage could also cause shuddering.
Is there any shaking while at highway speeds (without the braking)? Then it could be an alignment issue.
A bald tire in the front is not helping matters...it is dangerous and illegal in most states. The small dent in the rim in the back is not safe either. This could lead to a catastrophic tire failure. You can hammer those back a little and make it safer.
