Rust build up between your wheel speed sensor and knuckle in 1 or both of your front hubs likely causing vehicle to think lockup has occured at low speeds. replace your faulty wheel speed sensor/s. monitor with scan tool that shows individual wheel speed of front sensors and replace the 1 that does not read the same as the other 2

ABS and break lights come on in my 2001 GMC truck while driving, I will shut and restart the engine and the light will not come for a few more days, what is the problem?

When your abs comes on then it's usually signaling you for new brakes or rotors. If you know you don't need new ones then it may be a fuse.

I have a 2002 sierra gmc 4 x 4, when I come to a rolling stop the break peddle gets hard and you hear the abs working but it not stop you feel the pulse without the break or abs light coming on. I can...

This is a common problem with these trucks. You will need to set-up an appointment with the service Dept. at the dealership. There is an update for the ABS system. The function of this update is to reduce the sensitivity. When you get down to five MPH (with the brake applied) the ABS turns on (no light on dash) and you get the sensation of Sliding (braking is reduced).
This is assuming that the tires are the same size and pressure, And that there are no defects in the wheel speed sensors. Good-luck and please let me know what you decided to do and how it went.

ABS problem with GMC 2002 Sierra

its a low speed abs activation the problem is in the front sensors they need to be cleaned or replaced they [or one] probably has some corrosion on the sensor --[the 99 chevy tahoes had a limited recall over this issue and the fix was to remove and clean the abs sensor or if to corroded replace ] this problem doesnt set off an abs code or trouble light also sometimes the abs will activate by itself at under 4 mph without even touching brake

I have a 2000 GMC Yukon XL 1500. The antilock braked engage when slow to about 5 to 8 mph.

Here is a copy of a GM bulletin that applies to you concerns of low speed ABS activation.

Antilock Brake (ABS) Activation At Low Speeds (Clean Wheel Speed Sensor Mounting Surface) #03-05-25-007 - (09/29/2003)
Antilock Brake (ABS) Activation At Low Speeds (Clean Wheel Speed Sensor Mounting Surface)

1999-2004 GMC Yukon XL

Condition:
Some customers may comment on ABS activation at low speeds, usually below 8 km/h (5 mph). Upon investigation, the technician will find no DTCs set.

Cause
The cause of this condition may be an increased air gap between the wheel speed sensor and the hub reluctor ring due to rust and debris built up on the sensor mounting surface.

Correction
Measure AC voltage and clean the wheel speed sensor mounting surfaces.

Raise and support the vehicle.
Disconnect both the front wheel speed sensor (WSS) connectors at the frame and harness.
Place a Digital Volt Meter (DVM) across the terminals of each WSS connector.
Rotate the wheel clockwise approximately one revolution per second. The minimum reading should be at least 350 ACmV's. If the reading is less than 350 ACmV's, remove the wheel speed sensor. Refer to the applicable Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement procedure in the ABS sub-section of the Service Manual. Plug the WSS bore in order to prevent debris from falling into the hub during service.
Clean the WSS mounting surface on the hub to remove any rust or corrosion using a wire brush, or equivalent.

Important
Make sure that the sensor sits flat on the hub. Check the sensor flange against a straight edge to ensure flatness. If the sensor flange is distorted, replace the sensor.

Apply a thin layer of bearing grease to the hub surface and sensor O-ring prior to sensor installation. Use ONLY Wheel Bearing Lubricant, P/N 01051344.
Install either the original sensor or a new one in the hub. Ensure that the sensor is seated flush against the hub. Refer to the applicable Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement procedure in the ABS sub-section of the Service Manual.
Place the DVM across the sensor terminals and recheck the voltage while rotating the wheel. The voltage should now read at least 350 ACmV's.

Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.

I have 2000 gmc 1500 its got check engine light on and abs light on.runs fine.do i have to check with shop.

Yes you have to take it for a diagnostic scan test to find out exactly what the problem is. The check engine light is warning you that there is a problem somewhere in the car power train thay needs to be fixed to avoid major damage, while the abs light indicates a problem with the anti-lock breaking system. The fact that the cars still runs fine does not mean all is well. Go check it out please

Anti lock kicking in at 5 mph when brakes applied

9 out of 10 times this problem arises when a wheel speed sensor goes bad or a corresponding tone ring breaks. the abs light may not come on, and there will be no code in the abs control module in this situation. but what happens is the tone ring goes around an axle or is part of a wheel hub. and it's got slots in it that "excite" the sensor. if there is a crack in a tone ring, it'll work properly most of the time but intermittently will make the abs module think that wheel is spinning at a different speed than the others, making the abs kick on.

ABS engaging under 10 MPH, is this include 1997 Chevy 1500 under campaign 05068?

I dont think so, but you can call to find out for sure: chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 or gmc at 1-866-996-9463. Its the wheel-speed sensor problem.
