The door strap, that piece of flat metal that comes in and out of the fender when you open the door has a couple of notches to hold it in place. Those notches 1) wore out and the strap is smooth 2) the strap is lubricated and doesnt have enough friction to hold in place 3) the strap got loose, is out of alignment and the notches are not catching

Power windows door lock not

All of the above solutions are correct. The black boot does take a little work to pry it off (mine did, anyway), but once open you will see a thick black wire that is either barely together or completely broken. I used a ****-splice (funny name) and simply put the two pieces back together and put everything back in and it's good as new. Another common issue/symptom is when the interior lights come on and won't go off...like when the door is open. Have fun!!!

Do not have original remotes for opener. These original remotes hold the DIP code to program my new universal remote?

You won;t need the original openers for the newer garage door openers. There is a button on the back of the opener that you have to push to get the universal remote to sync with the garage door opener. The instructions that come with the universal remote are pretty good in explaining the setup.

Where is the door switch at

The back hatch lever that you use to open the door, open the back hatch and hold the lever up. You'll see a yellow thing, sorry not sure the name of it. You need to spray this really well with WD40, its a liquid level that gets dirty from dirt kicking up from dumper. I had taken my van many many times as light stayed on forever, Ford could never fix it. After spraying the heck out of it, close the door and let it sit, it should drop and inside light should go off. It's not the slider. Good Luck.

Drivers side front door will not open from inside or outside even using the key

Sounds like the clips that hold the rods, that operate your inside/outside door handles have come loose. You will have to get the door panel off...but first...you'll have to get the door open. OK...where your inside door "lever" is located....there is a plastic cover behind that lever.....also, there might be a small plastic access cover... over the screw that holds on this larger cover in place. If so....pop the little access cover off and there will be a screw behind it. (keep in mind...this is behind the inside door lever you pull on to open the door) remove the screw...remove the cover...you should now be able to see where the rod has come loose. if you cant grab it with your fingers, get a pair of pliers and pull forward ( toward the front of the car) to open the door. Make sure the door lock is off also. You may find the clip that holds the rod to the lever is broken or the rod has just fallen out of the clip. Sometimes, you can wire the clip into place so it dosnt come loose again. At this point, you will want to remove the door panel....because the "outside door lever...rod...is also loose...in which case you will need access to the inside of the door to fix it. Just remember, you only want to this once...so while in there...fix it right....

Back door won't stay up.

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

If you look at the door when it is open you will see a piston shaped object, like the kind to regulate a screen door. This shock absorber assembly is there to keep the door up and guard the door from going up too fast.

Yes, this is an fairly easy fix. If you have someone to hold the door, it can be replaced in less than 5 minutes..If you decide to diy, I can walk you through it.

Let me know whatever you decide. I just like to know if I helped you or not.

Back hatch will not unlock and will not open

The above info was correct to a point , My door also would not open. I took off whole back panel and sprayed wd-40 over whole mechanism and was able to open door but if you lock it it will not reopen unless you manually move lock. So there must be a cable that comes down into latch that I manually moved. I would hope someone can verify that before I take panel off again or if a whole part must be replaced to come on here and respond and name the part or part number. It would be appreciated. The whole design has major flaws period. It should have a key latch in rear cargo door just in case . Also drivers door has no key either what were the ford engineers smoking when they came up with that. OR is it planned obsolescence !

Back door latch broke cant open back door where can i buy the part and the name of the part

I just bought the part last week for 61.76 from the dealership. It takes about two hours to unscrew the strap from the inside, remove trim from the inside starting at the top, sides and bottom. Remove the license plate from the outside of the hatch. Next remove the 8 bolts (10mm)and 3 white plastic tabs that snap on from the large black plate and move to the side (you don't need to disconnect the wires). From here you can reach around the rear window unit and open the door by moving the latch or pulling the cable. You should remove the 4 nuts that hold on the rear window assembly and move the to reach two nuts which holds the center portion of the trim piece you are trying to remove. There should be a plastic piece covering the cable and latch, it just pops off by pulling it straight out. There are three plastic tabs in the corners and one screw (lock for the hatch) that holds on the license plate assembly to the rear hatch along with two white plastic tabs which are located at the bottom two holes for license plate. These plastic tabs come in from the front. Use pliers to squeeze the together and push. You will need to disconnect the license plate lamp wire connector from the left side. The license plate assembly should drop away. Two screws hold on the latch, remove and replace and reverse proceedure.

Program my garage door opener

What the last guy post is correct, but you have to tel your car what kinda remote you have. Assuming you have homelink Which 95 percent of the cars do ill give you a very short version on how to do this. First thing you need to do is clear the code in your car from any other owners. Do do this turn your car's key to the on or acc non running position. Press and hold the first and last button. Untill the light reacts different ether starts flashing or flashes faster etc. Then you need to get one of your remotes. Press and hold the button you want to set in your car and press your remote button at the same time untill the light reacts diferent. Mind you hold your garage remote as close to your car remote as you can. Then finally Find your learn button on your garage door opener it's self it can be in the back or the front if its in the front you have to remove the cover press the button once DO NOT HOLD IT. then go to your car and press the button you set for about 2 seconds and repet 1-2 more times untill your garage door moves. Make sure nothing is in the way of the garage door. (I know that should go with out saying.)
