It is more than likely temp. related. Check the coolant temperature sensor, and possibly all your vacuum hoses. This car still has a pcv valve too. Change that .
See if you have any critter nests in the air intake. The duct that actually feeds through the air filter

No power to coil with ignition on. Power at pin 30 all the time and pin 86 with ign on. negative at pin 87. 12v at pin 85.turn key on power at coil for 2 sec. Power at cavity 3 at comp. Fuel pump ok. Code...

Mike, I don't know what you are working on, Chrysler? Chevy? Chrysler and Jeep have an Automatic Shutdown Relay for power to the coil. But the only thing I know that gets a 2 second signal with key in on, is the fuel pump relay. The pcm sends a 2 second signal to pin 85 or 86 of the FP relay with key on to prime the fuel system. Do you need a wiring diagram?

79 chrysler codoba ? don't think its a fuel problem ! I can't believe a cordoba ????????/ really ? I knew someone who had one, white w/ blue interior ! WOW ! after all these years, I need to wrap my head around this . give me a minute ! this bucking violently sounds so familiar ! I'm thinking electrical, BAD COIL, when it overheats, it comes & goes ! spark plug wires need replaced also ! what type of distributor ? replace cap / rotor ! whats in distributor , points ? electronic ? ignition module ? I'm so intune with todays cars, can't remember ! TIMING may also be an issue ! have you checked all the VACUUM HOSES ? EGR valve ? TODAYS FUEL is bad for this vehicle ! need I say more !

It starts up fine and runs ok for about 20 mins driving then it would lose the power then if alow to rest it would return

Check your inline fuel filter to see if it has picked up sediment from your gas tank. Often these filters will pick um some sediment which lays parallel to the fuel flow, allowing some gas to get through, then when you accelerate, the sediment gets packed against the out flow side and blocks fuel flow. When you let it set for a few minutes, then the sediment settles out and allows some fuel to flow again.

I have a 1990 isuzunpr 4bd1t diesel.Truck won't stay running.It is a fuel issue.Drained water seperator,changed fuel filter,cleaned inline screen before the primer pump.Had primer pump rebuilt.Replaced...

G'day
I dont know if this will help but i had a similar problem with an isuzu sbr and after doing all that you have done i took the fuel tank off and drained it. Every thing looked fine so i washed it out with a little bit of petrol and a small piece of clear plastic came out. What it was doing was floating up when the truck was not running but after i started the truck it would slowly get sucked down to the outlet and block the fuel line.
It was very frustrating and it took me quite a while to find the problem.
hope this helps.

I had exactly the same problem .Mine was corrected with replacing the O2 sensors .The sensors cost less than $30 each but cost about 20 mins labor per sensor .So if you got an honest mechanic the total cost will be around $130 .

check if you have a spark when engine dies. if not, check the rpm sensor or ignition coil. both have the simptoms like you describe.

Truck will crank and then shut off

You will need to do your testing while the vehicle is in failure to start mode.Check wether the coil is recieving 12v and pour a little fuel down carb to see if it wants to run.If pouring a little fuel down carb makes the car try to fire up you probably have a fuel pump issue. If it doesnt try to fire you have an ignition problem.Hope you get it sorted and good luck.
