There is a starter solenoid located on the inside fender-well follow the positive battery cable to locate it. the opposite side of solenoid that battery cable goes to the starter.there is one or two smaller terminals
the terminal closest to the starter cable is the activating terminal if you make contact from that terminal to the terminal from the battery and the starter engages then you are not getting power to there from the ignition switch. if nothing happens then you need to replace the solenoid.
good luck.

You need to check and see if when you turn the key to start that you get current at the starter soldnoid. If not check the safty switch and the ignition switch. If you get current check and see if it goes thru to the starter if not replace soldnoid if it does check the starter itself. These are all electrical and can fail at any time without any warning. Good luck.

Why won't my car start?

Check what the battery reads while starter is running.Or you can turn on the headlights and try to start it to see if the headlights dim or go out.
If so then the battery is too weak or has bad connections at battery or at the engine ground or starter solenoid.

01 mustang gt cranks once

Sounds to me that your starter is gone. There is one thing you can do, try tapping ya starter and then try starting the car. If it starts then you have what is called a dead spot in ya starter. The only fix for this is a new starter. Make sure that you dont have a bad wire going to your starter also. Hope this helps.

Pro start car starter on a 2006 avalanche, something is draining the battery, next morning vehicle is stone dead. This happens on random days. Installer can't solve the problem.

Have him put in a new one, sounds like this one is defective. A bad starter solenoid will drain your battery when car is shut off.

2001 Avalon was dead (battery). Won't start or jump

If the battery is fully charged there is but one thing tjst gives you those symtoms. You simply have a bad connection at the negativbattery cable. It won't hurt to ck the positive cable also. This os a common thing when a battery is connected and idle..Always disconnect the bat neg if the the vwhicle won't be used for more than two days. If possible, don't charge your dead battery with the alternator of the vehicle. It could very possibly cause charging problems. The clickinf is from insufficient voltage and jump stating with te dead battery still in place doesnt work because the goog and bad batteries are try to balance again, causing low voltage/amps to the starter. Good Luck. Sorry about the lesson, habit.

Won,t start, acts like no juice is going to starter w/charged bat

You need to have your Battery Checked. Common Symtom of an Early Failing Battery. Not enough Cold Cranking Amps Left to Kick it over.
