1996 jeep wont stay started and oil pressure gauge goes up and down

hot or cold engine , or both.?
the oil pressure will be in direct ratio to engine rpm. slow low, fast high
due to the oil pump connection to engine crankshaft.

stalls.: can be caused by 50 things, or just 4 in physics.
the EGR valve (if you have one, no engine stated)
can stick open and stall any engine, and in fact LOVES to. clean it.
1: list 12vdc to EFI. (spark and fuel brain) dash lights dim?
2: lost compression hot, ? compression tests.
3: lost spark, do spark tests. and timing, checks.
4: bad fueling, too much if floods, and misfires and stalls.
too little fuel, it starves and dies.

the 1 free test, is can you save the stall with a fast right foot.

we do the tests. avoiding those 50 guesses....
each tests are simple and the tools dirt cheap .

LOW OIL LITE COMES ON WHEN RPM REACH 2000

sounds like the oil is staying in the head
and not returning to the lower end fast enough
the oil returns are clogged and restricting the flow.
The fix for this is remove valve cover clean returns
change the oil and filter reinstall valve cover.
If you do not know what you are doing take it to a mechanic.

Tapping/ticking noise when rpm goes above 2000 with check oil warning on my chevrolet lumina ls 2005 model

You will have to take an oil pressure reading and compare to specifications. It could be that the pick up screen is plugged. Do not drive the car as damage to engine will occur.

Oil light stays on until you reach 2000 rpm's. Is it the Oil Sending Unit?

Oil light coming on usually means low oil pressure. IE: low oil, pump worn and possibly the sending unit. Before buying a new oil pressure switch you can try cleaning it by removing sender and soak lower part (that screws into engine) in parts or carb cleaner. Sometimes they stick and get gummed up.

I just replaced my head gaskets and my oil light comes on dim at first and gets brighter as the rpm's go up. What would cause this?

check the wire at or near oil pressure sensor. it may be in contact with the engine or exposed wires that ground more consistently when the vehicle is traveling at high rpm.....hi sppeed....more blowing air....your light is a dummy lite ...der....and the only other possibility is not a happy one. the light only should come on when no oil is passing along the sensor. perhaps your oil is low dangerously low. go get you oil changed. if the light no longer is on when you drive off then oil is disappearing.. somewhere....never good.....the odds i feel are much greater that the wire is the cause for the flickering light. over plugged oil pump screen, no oil, failed sensor, and no note of poor vehicle performance.

When i come into a complete stop the oil gauge goes down.

If it's your oil pressure gauge, that is usually normal. The pressure will rise and fall with the RPM's of the engine, since the oil pump runs off of the engine itself.

Do you have a CEL coming on when it does that? If so, got to Autozone or Advanced, and get the codes from it, and myself or someone on here can help you fix it.

Engine high rev at stop and slowly goes to idle speed.

I've got Hyundai Lantra 1.6 year 2000. It's take time to start when it's hot. When I start my car it revs at about 2k-3k rpm. It also does it when I come to a stop. When I come to a stop it will stay at a higher rpm than that of idle speed. It drives ok when on freeway but uses more petrol. I have changed the water & petrol pump but no luck

Oil Engine Light turned on and beeped after it reached 1200 rpm and then the clicking noise

have you done an oil change lately? If so did you doit yourself or was it done by a shop? I would check to see that the corret oil has been used fior your vehicle, I would also double check that the correct oil filter has been used. also on the open end of the oil filter that attaches to the car is a rubber " O " ring, I would remove the filter that is on there now and check to see that the O-ring from the old filter was not left behind.
