2005 Hyundai accent won't start. it turns over but is not starting.

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Check and see if you are getting spark to the plugs first.
Also re-check the computer for codes and see how many are back.
Trouble codes are suggestions, not solid instructions.

My 1997 hyundai accent will not start. i can only hear a clicking sound. what should i look at. It has a new battery.

A clicking sound with no cranking, while trying to start your engine, is usually a sign of a bad starter. Have it checked out.

There is a high pitch whinning noise when i start my car and the battery light is on but very dim then it goes away after about 20 mins (1997 hyundai accent)

your belt is slipping on your alternator...either needs replaced or tightened. Or your pulley on the alternator is freezing up a little and making it hard to turn....making your belt slip then.

Getting started again

if it has been sitting for 2 years i would first change all the fluids and filters . i would also drain out the fuel tank as well the fuel in it is broken down and will be brown like varnish which will ruin alot of componants. after you have this accomplished i would cyle the key about 10 times each time waiting 10 seconds in between so the fuel pump can move the fuel up the line. i would also remove the air filter hose from the breather box and add a little fuel or starter fluidand replace the hose this should help when you crank the engine........please rate this
