Question about 2006 Toyota Highlander

How to reset the "maintenance required" after an oil change. I took it in for an oil change, and the technician forgot to "reset" so that the red! message does appear? I've tried the procedure in the owner's manual with no result.

There is a little box that is red where it says maintanance required. Is it suppost to be red? And what do i normally need to fix.

It means it is time to change your oil and can be reset by pushing in on the small cavity with a key.
But change the oil first, otherwise you will be neglecting the engine maintenance.

My 95 honda accord just reached the 205,000 mile mark. Now, the "maintenence required" window is bright red! However, I can't hear or see anything wrong with it. What's the problem??

That is just your maintenance minder system, which helps you keep track of when your oil changes are due. It goes from Green, Yellow to Red every 7500 miles. To reset, just insert your key into the slot next to the Red window. It will then reset to Green. -hope I'm understanding you correctly.

Maintenance required light blinks every time i turn on my toyota corolla 2005 and i had oil changed at toyota service station?

Hi, it is possible it may require other schedualed services and you are being reminded. However to reset for the oil change you need to have the key off. press and hold down the milage trip reset button and turn the key on. After five seconds the odometer reads "0000000" and the light goes off. If this does not reset then let me know. There is a longer procedure for reseting the other maint services required.

Maintenance Required Soon light came on. What does this mean? I just had my vehicle taken in for an oil change last week and everything was in great condition.

"Maintenance Required" is an automatic indicator which runs on your mileage. Once serviced the counters need to be reset. It could be that when you had the oil change the service centre did not reset the computer (they forgot, ps. this is not somethuing you can DIY) or you did not take it to a Toyota service centre, in which case they did not have the electronic gadget needed to do the reset. Get it back to Toyota or at least someone who can do the reset.

My 92 honda accord's "maintenance required" light won't go off, even after an oil change

If you had the oil changed at a shop, they forgot to reset the sensor. Bring it back to them and ask them to reset it.

If you did it yourself, bring it to a shop and ask if they can reset it for you...don't be surprised if they don't want to do it...in which case you can take it to a Honda dealer and have them reset it.

My maintenance required light changed from green (slowly) to red. i am a few hundred miles overdue for an oil change, which i'm doing today- how do I reset that light? I believe the oil change factor is...

I believe that there is a small slot, perhaps under the maintenance light, but somewhere on the speedometer, that allows you to put your ignition key into it and press in order to reset the light.

You have to reset it by holding the button on the dash that looks like odometer reset button then turn key on while holding that button that will reset that light.

Maintence required on red

Maintenance Required is a light that comes on after a predetermined number of miles. For example, if the maintenance schedule Honda set for the car calls for an oil change at 3000 miles, a new fan belt at 6000 miles, and another oil change at 9000 miles, then the maintenance required light will come on every 3000 miles and stay on until it is reset by the dealer. Some people, especially those that do their own regular maintenance but don't have a way to reset the light themselves, find this an annoyance. But others find it useful and take their cars in to the dealer every time the light comes on, and they rest assured that all of the regular maintenance is always done on time.

What this light does NOT do however is signal that there is anything immanently wrong with your car. It is not a "Check Engine" light (that's the one you should worry about if it ever comes on), but merely a reminder for you to do preventative maintenance. That doesn't mean you should *ignore* it, per se, as you want to make sure you have your car on some kind of maintenance schedule, even if yours is not as strict as Honda's. But there is no need to panic.

Maintenance Required Indicator is RED. I tried resetting this but it still stays red. I have resetted this before and it would turn green. But this time it stays red. What does that light indicate anyway?...

yes, this is an indication that is instructing you to change the oil. the constancy of the oil is thinning. these Hondas have a very sophisticated oil system sensory module. it will tell you if the oil is to thin. very cool system.
