You have either put the new thermostat in the wrong way around ,so it isent opening up so take it out and turn it up the correct way(spring looking part to the bottom) engine side,
OR it needs air bleeding from system like turning the heater to hot before filling with antifreeze to get out the air from the heater when you start and run.. Ron

Both heaterhoses stay cold even if the engine hs been runing and heater was set on max nd high

Check for a stuck thermostat. Housing is usually on the engine block where the heater hose to the radiator connects. Replace the thermostat and hot water should start flowing.

It keeps runing hot

if its overheating, mostlikely its one of a few things. A.) Thermostat needs to be replaced as it can no longer sense the temperature of the engine. B.) check to see if the auxillary fan is working correctly, if its not replace the fan if its elecrtical or the relay.

Heater quit working runing hot no water in

Fill it up, run until it's hot and see if you see anything coming out of the water pump. I don't think the heater has anything to do with the running hot problem. The heater valve may need replaced or freed up. Good luck!

1994 ford tours runing hot.replaced water

If you had a crack in your head you should be losing water inside/outside the engine, the same with a head gasket, check for water running down the outside of block and the exhast for excess water discharge, I know will sould stupid but did you insert the thermostat in the correct way? spring facing downwards?. The only other thing i can think of is if you have a collapsed rubber hose somewhere.

Engine Light on

can you tell me more I just had the same problems is it runing cold or hot over heating . this is what mines was doing running cold when heat was on if it not mess up when the heat is on. I would get a thermostat from the chevy dealer trust me they work the best. if it is runing hot the try a fail safe thermostat you can get one at auto zone but when i put one of those in did not solve my problem there are ones that have a by pass featuer work good only if your car is over heating in not by a regular plan with no featuers. if you still have a problem trying this out try tps sensor get that checked. check for leacks antifreeze

Heater will not get hot

first, make shure that the water level in the radiator is apropriate, then ck the thermostat for oppening and closing(you wont have a heater if the thermostat is constantely open) ck the 2hoses that suply hot water to the heater core, both hoses must be hot when engine is runing .if one off the hose is cold ,the hot water is not circulating to the core and back to engine .ck the valve , see if you can by pass it and see the results if you have heater , replace the valve. nicolas
