If you have an auto box then this sounds like your SPORTS mode, once pressed it will hold the gear longer, ideal for overtaking manouveres.

Shift gear lock on park

Hello...the J gate soleniod has probaly failed, or something broke.
Try this, with the car running, put your ear to the shifter. Press on the brakes. Do you hear a "click" inside the shifter when you press on the brakes? It may be faint, but there is an electrical latch in there, that mechanically moves and releases the J gate when the brakes are pressed. No sound, that is your problem. I hope this helps.

How to unlock truck jaguar stype when no power

The button or the fob will not work with low or no battery power - you need to use the key. There is a keyhole on the boot under the trim or under by the reg. plate lights according to what facelift model you have.
good luck.

Want to be able to hook my phone to my car

Please see here if you are sure the car has been prewired.
Have you contacted jaguar to be sure the car is wired?
Just because there is a phone symbol on the stereo means nothing.
They all have that.
Go to Jaguars web site and email them with you cars VIN number and ask if the car has been prewired.
they will get back to you in about in 2 days and let you know.
