Got a 1990 labaron convertible cant get parking lights to work, bought another switch still no luck

check park/tail fuse regarding dash ,park ,tail problem .brake light on passenger side is probably the brake globe needs replacing .Turn signals on passenger side could be globes or switch,check globes first ,if globes and fuse are ok ,may well be the switch especially if park switch and turn signals are on the same switch lever/stalk

There may be a bulb in one of the brake sockets that is short circuiting the entire lighting system. Check the bulb sockets burnt or bad bulbs.

Enable the parking brake, It has an interlock, The brakes must be on to allow the starter to work.

Dude! This is a common issue..there is a switch on top of the steering column for the 'parking lights'. It needs to be turned off....I'll bet that's it.

You'll have to inspect the brake light switch at the pedal box assy. Damaged switch or wiring could give the previous symptoms you describe.! Good luck

Make sure you check switch in dash, when I move my switch very slowly the park lights work therefore replaced switch and everything is great.

Ok you have a main fuse that is blown. Or maybe a fusible link.

Many MX5 owners convert the extra brake light on the boot lid to a fog light. Has this been done to yours?

You probably want to start by checking bulbs and fuses. If that's not it check the wires in that circuit for damage ( which will most likely occur at the terminations, or where they are subject to rub against something, which will damage the insulation.) Then maybe the switch??? I'm still learning.

do the brake lights work? if not, suspect brake switch or the fuse as this switch also controls a solenoid that releases when foot brake applied.
