Question about Jeep Liberty

2006 jeep liberty, the four wheel drive dash light is on, but I'm not in four wheel drive. I took the battery out, and now it works improperly. Is there a sensor I can reset, can I fix it myself?

Have a 2006 jeep liberty and the lights on the power windows switch will not work. Have checked fuse not sure what to do next.

make sure the dash lights are not on the dim setting. The window switch runs its lighting from the dash light dimming switch as well. If all is ok, I would suspect a faulty window switch assembly

What could be the cause for my vehicle NOT to even turn over, but all dash lights & security seem to work?

the dash draws but 100x less thatn the head lights.
so even a near dead battery make weak lamps work
starter needs 100amps
the had lamps 10amps
the days 0.1amps 100x less.

for get the wheels, engines dead ,wheels are last. never first.

why not jumper cable start the car just like all AAA members do.
see? do it.
and the results will solve this fastests.

if car cranks and starts and runs. then the battery was low
if low charge it , if it wont take a charge replace it.
if it does hold a charge and goes dead driving the charges system is failing, if it fails, clean battery terminals first. and at ever 30k miles.
there are many systems on the car,
each must work in there turn.

wow cathy 4 post now.
get it jump started, does it start now?
charge the battery to 12.6vdc rested
does it crank now, you mean it wont crank or
cranks robustly but will not start
or cranks and runs for 3 seconds.
is the IMMO light off, it has its own lamp, mine is sold read, no words, no icons, just red. if on, it WILL NEVER RUN.

key on
cranks does it crank.???
if not jumper start it. if IMMO is off.

Wont go in four wheel drive

This is a common problem for most jeeps...The only safe thing you can do is just check all drivetrain components for leaks and add to anything low...(You can disconnect negative battery cable to re-set computer and the trouble light will go off..It may stay off)..If nothing is leaking and nothing seems wrong and all works fine take it to dealer and have it scanned....It may just need a flash update for computer system...Or a simple sensor../perhaps a certain solenoid....I once worked for Chrysler and we had these problems with trouble lights with all Chrysler products...Most we're simple flash updates that were needed.....It may be some type re-call....you never know...Chrysler has a lot of issues...Of course all vehicles do but Jeep was once their own company AMC ..I think they should have stayed that way.........Hope this helps......Brooks......

I got few dash lights off and I want to replace them or the whole panel.Could you tell me what is the way to change it please?

its in the FSM. and at alldata.com (get an account and read it)

lots of steps. and guessing invites broken plastic parts. or worse.
newer cars are like this,, not fun, or easy...

1: defeat air bags, per FSM, or die......
2: the panel is configured via the BCM./PCM
3: the CAN buss , MARRIES, the display to the BCM.
do not mess up , or the dash display will never be right again.!!
its uses a factory scan tool to run the diagnostics and Marry the dash.
here is one paragraph to get you up to speed. (RTM OR FAIL)
do not accidentally get it Un-married. dig? Replaces or power glitched.

Certain indicators in this instrument cluster are automatically configured. This feature allows those indicators to be activated or deactivated for compatibility with certain optional equipment. If the problem being diagnosed involves improper illumination of the cruise indicator, the electronic throttle control indicator, the tow/haul indicator, the service four-wheel drive indicator, the four-wheel drive low indicator, the four-wheel drive lock indicator, the transmission overtemp indicator, the security indicator or the gear selector indicator, disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. After about five minutes, reconnect the battery negative cable and turn the ignition switch to the On position. The instrument cluster should automatically relearn the equipment in the vehicle and properly configure the configurable indicators accordingly.

btw:1: some cars have radio codes the op guide tells us. get the codes first before disconnecting any battery from any car.
or its bricked to.

We replaced the starter in our 2006 jeep liberty but it still will not start, we checked all of the relays; the lights, dash lights, windows and wipers all work but when we turn the key there is no sound...

Test the battery, just because it can illuminate lights does not mean that it can start the car. To verify this take a volt meter and test the voltage of the battery, you should be getting a voltage of 12.6v, then test the voltage while trying to start the car. you you will want a voltage in the area of 11.0 volts. if it is lower then that you will want to replace the battery.

Seems like rear brakes apply themselves

First make sure that your tires are the same size and age. To the best of my knowledge the abs system does not apply the brakes, it modulates the brake pressure. I'd look at the transfer case as a possible problem, especially if it has full time four wheel drive.

Part time light on when in 2 wheel drive off when in 4 wheel driv

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty I had the same, there's a switch underneath the vehicle for the cable near the 4 wheel drive shaft, I had a transmission shop replace mine and that took care of the problem, I think the total cost was about $120.00 but that included labor.
