There is a short circuit in the brake light wiring it could be in the lamp holders them selfs pull off the wires to the brake lights holders on all the lamps and see if it still blows a fuse if it dose then the short is in the loom not the lights them self's if it dont blow a fuse hook up one light at a time untill it starts to blow fuses again the last light to be hooked up that blows the fuse is the faulty light

Brake light bulbs replaced and no light when brake applied

check the brakelight switch at the bottom of the brake peddle it could be out of adjustment, with the brake peddle released the switch should just push in a little bit and with the peddle pushed a little the switch should be away from the peddle to turn the brake lights on, hope this helps you.

Red brake light stays on

Many cars have a switch that rests on the arm for the brake peddle that self adjusts. If something gets stuck between the switch and the peddle it can adjust the switch too far way from the peddle arm. When the object that got in the way falls out or is removed the switch will no longer contact the peddle arm and the brake lights will stay on. You would probably need to remove the panel cover for the bottom of the dashboard to access the brake peddle are and brake light switch. Once you see the switch depress the peddle with your hand and push the switch toward the peddle are. It shouldn't be too hard to push back into place and will probably make a series of clicks as it moves. Once the switch has been pushed in release the brake peddle and the switch will adjust itself back to where it should be.

2007 chevy malibu, when brake peddle is engaged the brake lights go out but you remove you foot from the brake peddle the break lights come on and stay on untill you touch the brake peddle again, I am...

That sounds like a faulty brake light switch located down on the brake pedal lever under the dash, or a damaged wire at the wire connector to the brake light switch. Here are some images of what the brake light switch looks like to help assist you.

I have replaced several brake light switches in this particular car.The brake light switch is located under the dash on the brake peddle arm and is not expensive or hard to do .This seems to be the biggest problem with the brake lights:)

As cadman mention to check the fuse, and if there ok check your brake light switch along the brake peddle arm. Before you doany of that, turn your hazard light on to make sure that all your light's are not burnt out. Good luck

2004 explorer brake light will blink here and there while driving

check and make sure brake fluid is full, if so then the emergency brake has a switch on it that will make the brake light come on. to check this get in vehicle and push emergency brake then release it then take your hand and wiggle the emergency brake peddle and see if the light comes on and off. if so then the peddle is not comming all the way up against the switch this may be solved by just pulling up on the peddle each time the emergency brake is released,

sounds like it is a brake light switch located at the brake peddle. test the switch and if it is faulty replace it.

Brake lights

under the brake peddle is a switch. Lift the brake peddle upwards and you will see that the brake light goes out [requires two people; one to hold the peddle up, other to view the brake lights]. Restrengthen the spring tension on the brake peddle.

Should the lights remain ON after you lift the brake peddle up, unplug one of the wires to the brake peddle switch. At this point, the brake lights should be off. This basically will determine whether your switch is shorted or is just a peddle pressing down on the switch due to a bad spring.
