Dear Brake Fluid Craving........This is what you do....Run down to your local autoparts store...invest in a six dollar bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid...then walk back to your montana with fluid in hand. Open your hood......and stand there and look at your motor....while youre standing there in a stare down contest with your motor......look to your right and up towards your wiper blades a little bit. Your brake fluid master reservoir is goin to be right there on your firewall....right there at the top of the firewall just below the cowling for your wiper blades and such. It's gonna have a plastic cap on it.....normally bright in color. It will normally also say dot 3 on the cap also. Simply add a little fluid at a time from the new bottle of brake fluid until you can see the fluid level rise up in the reservoir till it's about half an inch from where the cap goes on...THERE!!! you're done!!! Easy huh? Now....after that's done I might suggest a brake check at any reputable auto shop...most give away free brake check.....low fluid normally simulates a bigger problem...low pad material...fluid leaks....etc..so......Thx for your time... I HOPE I HELPED!!!!

What rear brakes can be found on a 2004 pontiac montana

Depends on model, could be drum or disc. Should be able to see calipers through the wheels, if it has rear disc, unless you have full wheel covers. Otherwise, it is drum for the rear. You can plug your specific model into a parts store web site and it should tell you what is available (drums/shoes or rotors/calipers/pads) for the rear, which essentially tells you what you have. The exceptions to that rule are a site that doesn't differentiate models well, and vehicles that offer some sort of package that adds rear disc brakes without changing the model designation. In the latter case, it should list both, and you will have to use a flashlight and maybe remove a hubcap to be sure (which I would recommend, anyway), unless it is guarded by a pit bull or grizzly (or rabid chihuahua).

no the transmission shift cable is streached and needs to be adjusted. you should be able to shift the van to neutral and start it in that gear. just watch when you park because it will roll away. use parking brake. if it doent start in neutral then your cable may be snaped and not noving the gear selector on trans at all

WHY IS MY PARKING BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON IN MY MONTANA

if it's just the small red brake light on the light panel then you just need to ad some dot 3 brake fluid to the reservior. when brake pads wear down they use more fluid in the cylinders within the calipers. you may need new brake pads.

THIS IS A SEALED TRANSMISSION AND HAS NO DIPSTICK TUBE,THE DEALER HAS A SPECIAL TOOL FOR CHECKING FLUID LEVEL, THE PLUG FOR ADDING FLUID IS ON THE TOP OF THE HOUSING NEAR WHERE THE LEFT AXLE GOES OUT. DON'T JUIST BLINDLY ADD FLUID, IF U OVERFILL IT U CAN BURN UP THE TRANSMISSION.

I have a 2004 pontiac montana mini van and a red light came on it looks like a broken egg and the parking break light comes on with a ! what does this mean??

a door is open or rear hatch or the connection from the panel itself to the switch is not making the connection completely ..these things occur after a period of use as they wear it may even be the gas door ajar or the hood switch its letting you know something is not making a proper connection as well check all the fluid levels for proper sufficiency levels and make sure the parking brake pedal or lever is fully disengaged
