I am not sure on this module, but most of the time,it will say body control on the module,it is a computer, behind glove box,up in kick panel,or drivers side under hood.

The b c m,now on some models,it is built into the ecm,so check with the dealer, and if it is made into the e c m,get the part number off the ecm,and purchase it at the auto parts store.First look in the relay box,for a body control relay, there will be one ,if the control is threw the e c m,and the relay may be stuck on,pull it to see if the lights will go off,if they do,the purchase the relay, and be done with it.

When my passenger door is opened then closed the light on the dash indicates that the passenger door is ajar, dome light is on and doors will not lock until the door is open and closed sometimes once...

There is a tiny switch inside the door called the "Door Ajar" sensor, remove the door panel and replace that switch, it is attached to the door latch, it just twists out and back in.

My power locks keep locking and unlocking by them selves this is followed by the dome lights flicking on / off and the door ajar warning turning on / off as well what could be causing this? how do i fix...

one of your doors is not closing tightly. with the door ajar light on and all doors closed, have someone walk around the car and push in on each dorr to see which one puts the light out. Then adjust the lock on that door so it holds the door in tighter. Let me know if this doesn't solve it or if you have questions.

2001 Sequoia, door ajar light goes off, but dome light stays on. Door ajar light comes on with slight pressure against closed door. Can replacing the door jam switch solve this problem? Why would the door...

To temporarily solve the light problem, I taped a washer to the inside of the door where the door hits the plunger on the light switch. A permanent solution would be to drill a hole in the door at this spot and put a self taping screw in that will trigger the switch sooner. I figured out the reason the dome light stayed on is due to the courtesy light timer and the lights would have eventually gone off.

Door ajar dash trouble and dome light stays on even if all doors

The door sensors will need to be replaced. A screws can be removed and then a wire can be taken of and you then can replace the switch.

1998 Taurus SE warning chime beeps as you get in the driver door

Hi John,

Had a similar problem with my Saturn. Door chime going all the time, the seat belts going up - down - up for no apparent reason.

Turned out to be the switch in the door jamb had become unseated. As it randomly made and broke contact, the cars computer thought the doors were opening and closing, then acted accordingly.

I remounted it with the help of a hot glue gun (plastic mount).

Hope this info helps with your problem.

Best regards
Mike

My passenger door has no power,my security light is on constantly

Have lost power to the passenger side door. Without power system doesnt recognize door closed because of no power to door ajar switch which keeps dome light on. Security light stays on because without power to rest of systems supplied by fuse it cannot tell if doors and windows closed to engage security features. Most common is for power wire to break somewhere near where it leaves to main body and enters the door.

My trucks computer tells me there's a door ajar

check each door jamb button (can't think of the correct term). close all doors except one... push the button manually... does the interior light go off... if it does move on to the next door. that will narrow down where the problem is... or it should. it also could be the relay for the interior lights located on the fuse panel under the dash.

"Door Ajar" signal on dash panel stays on even when doors are clo

there should be a switch mounted( or more than one) in the door jamb that tells the car when the car door is open...i will probably look like a little plastic plunger...might be broken off or bad internally

"DOOR AJAR" Light Always On... Even with all doors shut... As a result the dome light is always on and "DOOR AJAR" shows up instead of the electronic speedomter so it can be seen how fast the vehicle is...

spray some lubricant (wd40 etc.) into the lock mechanism on the doors .. the switch may be jamming up ..

The front door entry system contains a latch that is fastened to the inside of the door frame and is controlled by the exterior and interior door handles. The latch contains a door ajar switch and a door lock actuator. The front doors can be locked/unlocked by the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter, the RKE keypad, the door lock control switch or the door lock cylinder .
