Check the air filter intake pipe has not come apart and is drawing water up from the ground. If that is all ok.Then you have a cracked cylinder head. This can be checked by messuring how mutch water is being used in the water header tank.

I drove my mustang threw a half foot of water and it stalled and died when I restarted it it made this tapping knocking noise that u can feel tapping on the passenger side intake manifold

My guess is a bent rod caused by hydro locking a cylinder with water. I've seen it alot in mustangs and crown vics. Your water soaked air filter is a dead giveaway.

Check engine light

I would check the air filter. It probably got soaked and decreased the air flow. You can also go to any parts store, and they will pull the code for you.

Hi i have a 1.3 golf 1996 and its spitting oil through the air filter and the mechanic guy told me i need to have the whole engine serviced.....of which i doubt could its necessary i think he z just up for...

sir i now exactly what your problem is i hope you see this . take off your air filter box open it as if you were changing your air filter element . you will see in the bottom of the air filter box an orange rubber disk or sometimes its completely decomposed with oil . normaly they curl up . this little inexpensive pice of rubber under throttle pulls down and stops oil from the crank case breather soaking your air filer with oil . pull off this rubber disk get another put it back on and i promise your problem will go away . they should be changed on a service . how easy is that sir . i cant believe how un helpfull some replies have been for you . much love marco polo man

Peugeot 206 1.4 hdi wont rev up sometimes it will and sometimes it wont

Is the check engine light on all the time or it is it off?

I know same problem happening in another Peugeot was told he has a tubro problem but his check engine light is on all the time but accidentally it goes off sometimes for few days.

Do you see alot of heat/air or smoke coming out when you open the oil chamber?

Probably oil leakage going to a sensor?

Anything to do with the pistons seals?

1995 ford taurus air conditioner is leaking water into the passanger side

You either have the box for the A\C a-coil cracked whitch can be glued with epoxy or the drain tube is missing, pugged or off the nipple on the end of the box / catch pan. The box containing the coil is under the passenger side dashboard. A little investigation will reveal it. If tube is missing or off, repair / replace. If it is on and box is intact, take hose off and use compressed air to blow out the obstruction. With A/C running, you should then see water (condensation, which is normal) dripping from the bottom of car on the passenger side near the firewall / engine compartment. Please remember to rate this answer.
Thanks, Mike

Sometimes i get lack of power, this seems tobe intermittent?its as if there is a delay of about 3 seconds, sometimes i smell fuel.ive changed plugs and air filter.please can u help?

is the check engine light on?
this could be a number of different sensors(mass air flow, crankshaft position sensor etc), or even a wet ECU.

I have a 99 M3 (new to 400,000 kms), had to change the ECU twice now. ecu compartment gets wet. Wet circuit boards do lots of different things. If you've checked most of the standard stuff plus, coils, check the ECU box area below the windshield passenger side.

mine started with a replacement windshield, grounded off area never retouched with paint and rusted out, water off the windshield drained into the ecu compartrment and soaked the ECU slightly different results when things got wet,

My peugeot 206 all 3 of my back brake lights are not working

hi the first thing you need to check is the fuse in the fuse box if this is ok then the chances are the brake light switch needs replacing or it may have come loos what you need to do is get down on your knees so you can get a close look at the brake pedal then if you follow the brake pedal all the way to the top just before it goes through the bulk head into the engine you will then see a switch attatched to the very top of the brake pedal it will have 2 or 3 wires coming from it so check if this is fitted correctly also you could remove it and press the switch by hand and then see if the brake lights work that way.

If they do then try fitting it again and you may be able to adjust it slightly so check this if on the other hand it still dont work then you need to get it replaced.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Need assistence for 2000 toyoto camry please

DId the engine shut off when the car was in the water? Do not try to start it until you do the following inspection: Remove the air filter box and examine the air filter. Is it soaking wet? If so, you have ingested water into the cylinders. If this is the case, you must remove all of the spark plugs and crank the motor, this will blow the water out of the cylinders. Note that repeated attempts to crank the engine with water ingestion may cause damage ti the connecting rods. Examine the air filter for wetness & get back to me.
