SOURCE: 1999 landrover range rover 2.5 diesel put petrol

I would start by looking for the valve on the fuel rail (or at the filter housing), if you disconnected the fuel pipe from the filter feed you will have a lot of air in the system (and diesels do not like air in the feul system) you will need to have someone crank the motor over while you push in on the schrader valve to release the air out of the system until you get fuel to flow steady out of that port (this may take a short period of time), then you should be able to start the vehicle... would also recommend replacing the fuel filter as well. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: replacement oil cooler pipes on p38 range rover

if you are quick and good with a wrench you can remove them and then plug it the spot temporarly but you will still make a bit of a mess, but if you really dont want to drain all the oil then yes you can

Why my range rover classic tdi 5 speed manual the gearbox getting very hot ?

check the oil level and the type of oil in the gear box. If too much oil -that will make it hot. If too little oil -that will make it hot. IF the oil is not right viscosity -that will make it hot. get a infrared thermometer and read the gear box temperature to get an idea of the oil temperature as what feels hot on the stick may be operating temperature of the oil

I am having trouble getting a 1994 Land Rover defernder 90 into reverse please help

The gears are selected by using one shaft with 3 forks. 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and 5 and reverse. When you move the gearstick to the left for 1 and 2, a notched ( that's all I can think to call it)circle around the shaft turns and engages the fork. When you want 3 and 4 another engages the fork, the same with 5 and reverse.
If the others are selecting, then something has either slipped or is jamming the stick.
If 5 engages, then it should go back to reverse, the same as if 3 engages, it should go back to 4th. If 1 and 2 engage, it seems like something is blocking the bottom of the stick from physically moving. Take the gearstick out first and see if something like the reverse switch has broken away.

Where is transmision fluid level check

You do not say if it is a manual or auto.

Manual - The level fill plug is left hand side looking up at the gear box from underneath on your back, head at the engine end. Undo on level ground or a ramp if possible. You will need a imperial socket/spanner set.
When you undo the upper plug, which is about the middle of the box, you should find a clear red oil in side, is just below the thread level. You will not see this so use a pencil as a dip stick, only putting in an inch, do not let go of it, and if you find that the level is low check seals. If less than 1/4 inch don't worry.

Top as needed with gear box oil see owners hand book, or your local autostore. If if brown or milky coff coloured it is in need of replacement and any problems such as water ingress will need to be identified.

Autos is easy, dip stick in the engine bay up by the bulk head......though you will need to run the engine at some stage of checking this, and use you hand brake, engine in neutral. There is an oil filler tube to top to amke life a bit easier.

Range rover p38 radiator removal info

First, remove the grille, then the top panel. Remove the viscous coupling and fan. Remove the top radiator mounts, Remove the coolant hoses and oil pipes, remove 4 bolts holding the A/C and intercooler/or PAS radiators (depending if yours is diesel or petrol.) then lift up and out the radiator. Fitting is reversal of removal.
Hope this helps
