After the steering wheel is removed, and the lock bolt is removed, you can pull out the lock cylinder. You may need to carry the column to a locksmith and they can handle taking out the cyl for you. You may be better to swap cylinders with your old one, or a new cylinder will come with a new key. Special tools are neede to remove the steering wheel and compress the spring for the lock plate.

1999 chevy lumina parking lights flashing and strange clicking noise coming from the dash near the steering column even when the car is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. How do I stop...

Sounds like you turned on your emergency flashers somehow without knowing it. The button should be on your steering column. Otherwise, find the flasher control under the dash by following the clicking noise and unplug it. Then go buy a new flasher control.

yes,but it would be less costly and time saving to just replace the whole steering column from a salvage yard, but make sure it comes with keys.

Either the pin that connects rod to tranny is broken off, or there is internal transmission problems.

Timing chain broke on 92 lumina euro and knocked hole in the cover how do i get a cover if the engine has been discontinued

Try checking with scrap yards first. They also have crossover books that can tell what other motors use the same cover. If you know someone who works at a scrap yard they may be willing to look it up and tell you. You could also try kijiji. I have had fair luck cleaning up the old cover, gently tapping the pieces back in place and using JB Weld on the outside. Use brake cleaner or something like it to remove all trace of oil before you try this. It may still leak but it usually is only a few drops. Hope this will help.

How do i get the turn signal flasher out of my 1995 chevy lumina

Should just plug in (2 prongs) Not sure if you have Lumina van (on firewall just left of steering column under instrument panel) or sedan/coupe (driver side under dash, on passenger side of steering column)

96 chevy lumina sedan

for both issues, could possibly be the flasher unit for the blinkers.....which could be separate from the hazard flasher unit...(happened on my 92 chevy lumina) or the actual turn signal switch which is located in the steering column....not the stick you push, but the part inside that the lever controls (also happened on my lumina............3 times)

TIP:

start by checking the flasher....its cheap maybe 3-4$ for a new unit.....if thats not it and you figure out its the switch, go to a junkyard.....its wayyyy cheaper
