I'm trying to find the cruise control switch on a 1995 Jeep Cherokee

Someone had said to check the switch that is on the steering column, but I have been looking around and it seems a lot of people have been having the same problem and it has to do with vacuum hoses under the battery pan. I checked mine out and there are no vacuum hoses there.

Switch should be part of the multi-function switch ( directional arm)

I am not sure what you are asking, but it sounds like you need a hot wire for the cruise system. I suggest find something in the fuse box that you can tap into. The brake switch can supply hot, but it is on ALL THE TIME on many vehicles. So you would have a constant drain.
You need a switched, always hot signal, typically. (Nutcases, like me may also wire direct, for the purpose of achieving the precise last sped set, after a restroom and soda break, on a trip for example. still you typically want everything OFF during vehicle shutdown.)
Then your speed control may need to connect to the brake light (switched terminal, hot only when brakes applied). Other connections may include an engine speed sensor, often a clamp goes around a plug wire...
REMEMBER! completely seal any holes that you open up in the firewall. Silicone will not do, get something from the parts store, even a pin hole actually introduces a large amount of noise, as well as engine smells.

Check the vacuum hoses it is easy to notice if one is missing or not. If that doesn't work, I'd try the cruise control switch. Hope this helps

Location of the cruise control fuse in a 1995 jeep cherokee

Check this out also...the schematic is too small to see which fuse it is in the engine compartment Power Distribution Center (the fuse box). Is your cruise control not working?

Cruise Control The Cruise Command system is electrically actuated and vacuum operated. The turn signal lever on the steering column incorporates a slide switch which has three positions OFF, ON or RESUME. A SET button is located in the end of the lever. This device is designed to operate at speeds above approximately 35 mph (56 km/h).
The speed control module automatically controls throttle position to maintain a speed set by the operator. The vehicle will keep the set speed unless the driver presses the brake, clutch or accelerator pedal.

Cruise control just quit working

Check fuses/relays and make sure they are all good; if so check the electrical wiring/connectors in the dash. Jeeps are notorious for loose wires in the dash.

Do the brake lights work now, as they should? The brake light switch generally triggers the cruise control to snooze.
