Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
I would suggest testing the multi function switch (that is the turn signal/windshield wiper control/high/low beam swith) and replacing if necessary. Autozone sells it for about $50. If you are inclined you can buy a Haynes manual that tells step by step how to replace it. Your switch may be o.k. and it may be loose wires(there are approximately 12 wires in it) in the multi function switch connector because you said your lights come on if you pull back and hold the lever. If the wires have pulled loose or out, they're not very hard to reinsert. The Haynes manual gives you step by step how to test the multi function switch with an ohmmeter. Good luck.
