Alarm System Hi. I have a 1996 Volkswagen Golf GL with a 2.0 Liter motor. the problem i'm having is the alarm on it. both locks were broken out of both front doors and the alarm was never disabled. the problem i'm having now is that the alarm wont turn off what so ever when i go to either put the negative cable on it or turn the car on. i want to just get rid of the alarm completely. can anybody help me figure out how to do this?

What you need to do is cut the alarm wire. the alarm wire is located in the door panel, and it is either yellow, red, or gray.
the alarm wire is the same as the unlock wire, so it will not matter if you cut it.

How do I disconnect the keyless door entry on my 1996 Golf 1.4?

The alarm system needs to be de-activated by turning the key to the unlock position at the drivers door lock cylinder when re-connecting the battery. The alarm control module cannot be disconnected otherwise the vehicle will not start.

just connect the terminals, and wait till the alarm stops(30secs)then UNLOCK/HOLD KEY OVER 30 secs, windows go down.then lock/hold key over, windows go up.then press remote unlock button for 30 secs, you have just reset the alarm system/central locking/window comfort facility.....has to be done EVERY time you disconnect battery........

Windows and alarm won't work for a 2004 volkswagen golf

put key in drivers door and unlock/hold key over for 30 secs, the windows will drop, then lock car/hold key over for 30 secs, windows will shut, this resets alarm(it is only a perimeter alarm, unless you have a sensor(2)on the outside top of the A pillar, about 1/4 inch round, looks like a buttonhole microphone.

Have you checked your backup battery to see if it is dead? Your owners manual will show you where this is located. A bad backup battery can trip your alarm with no warning.

1997 Jetta GL Alarm

First to turn off the alarm you simply put the key into the drivers door and turn it to unlock the door twice, this is the factory setting to turn off activated Volkswagen alarm. As for the power locks they are air activated, in the trunk near the latch there should be a small electric motor that drives a small air pump with air lines running to all your locks. If this electric motor as worn out your locks will not operate, simple fix replace the motor. I'd try a used one first from a scrap yard to make sure but always check to see if there is power to the motor (you will need another person with a test light to perform this job). Let me know if this works. Vdubs 4-ever !

Alarm system

Might just be broken wires between the door and the frame. HAve you checked this area. JUst pull back the wires seal. If yes just reapir those and everything should be ok and your alarm will still work. Remember to check all doors wires.
